  1. 3 more votes for Danger. 3 more votes for N Jones.
  2. Geez, was Matt White's goal really that good? :/ Both Kent and JKH had almost identical goals during the year by running half the ground then kicking from the 50m arc.
  3. God, don't let that Bontempelli snap and goal and victory to the Dogs win goal of the year.
  4. And Tyson gets his first vote vs Bulldogs.
  5. Neither Tyson nor Jones score a vote in our win against Adelaide. Dangerfield gets the 3 votes. Uh, what?!
  6. N Jones on 6 votes after 6 rounds, not bad Skipper!
  7. Not a word from Roos on 360 about our application. So there's a decision that's been made, but for whatever reason hasn't been announced. Kind of weird?
  8. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-09-22/door-ajar-for-paddy-trade Geez, that's one hell of a softening of comments since last Thursday, with all these rumours about action intensifying behind closed doors.
  9. "And the winner of the 2014 Brownlow Medal... oh, by the way, Melbourne ain't getting a priority pick.. Joel Selwood!"
  10. Pies supposedly are refusing to do straight swap Clark for Lamumba, want as high as our second rounder. There's a reason people don't bother dealing with Colonwood at the trade table, they're notoriously difficult.
  11. A second rounder we have to trade for Lamumba I can confidently see happening, because it's a win win situation for Eddie. He can rob us blind by taking Clark and paying us a pittance in exchange, then secure himself our second round PP to compensate his own team for losing a player who doesn't even want to be there. Then he even gets to come out and praise the AFL, reiterating how grateful we should be for receiving such charity, when essentially he's manipulated the situation to make his club the real beneficiarys of the pick. They've done this masterfully by playing hard ball with Lamumba and refusing a straight swap with Clark. Taking this stance publicly also softens any public perception that Colonwood have been dirty players in the Clark affair, because it makes them look empathetic to our plight. Eddie always wins.
  12. Regarding the "fallout" news related to Sanderson, wouldn't have anything to do with these sudden rumors about Clarkson going there would it? Adelaide media reporting a huge contract has been offered to him. But last year it was West Coast getting him!
  13. LOL, great text message. "Get me out of here!". True leadership material there.
  14. You answered your own question in the first sentence. Also, Swans, protected species
  15. What he said. Wouldn't even surprise me if he authorized a PP for the Saints next year for two wooden spoons in a row. They do whatever suits their prerogative.
  16. The commission meets today. The club presidents have their AGM today as well. I'm assuming they will reach a decision and announce it this afternoon, as all the attention will be on the Brownlow and they can sweep us under the rug?
  17. Absolute dream scenario if we can manage it. Plus Clark for Lamumba, Blease for Robinson, third rounder for Stretch, second rounder for Giles and Frost, and any of Gwile/Jones/ROK as DFA's. Handsome off season indeed.
  18. Imagine a competition where all 18 teams had an even spread of talent, and could win the premiership in any given year. Wouldn't that be something? But no, we need Hawthorn in the grand final 3 years running and Sydney for the 2nd time in 3 years.
  19. Well obviously we're discussing rumors and hearsay, but it's been leaking from enough sources with proven connections at the MFC. It's either a smokescreen to hide or our real target, or the real deal. Depends who you trust. If we only talked about what's concrete fact, we wouldn't have much to talk about in the silly season.
  20. Ah, equalization. Where the likely premiers get a top 5 draftee for the price of pick 18.
  21. Well after the Clark/manager treatment, the club would want to do their due diligence with any managers. Roos won't be taken for a fool twice in one trade season. ... but I hope we have a backup plan to swoop on another target if the Dangerfield trade falls apart. Worse case scenario we use the picks in the draft but I'd hate for us to negotiate all trade season with Adelaide only to come up empty handed. Shiel, Mitchell and Cameron should all be on our radar on equal footing with Patty.
  22. I'd hate to think we're being played here but the cynic in me says Connors is just using us to see which 'power' club would be prepared to offer as much as we are. The only thing in our favor is the picks we can give Adelaide to satisfy a trade. We don't stand a chance getting him via free agency.
  23. Any team can force us to use our second rounder if they bid a first round pick on him. Eg, Hawks could say they want to use pick 17 on him, which means we have to use our second rounder. Basically, if any team values Stretch at pick <21 and choose to bid on him, we'll be forced to use our pick 22. Question is who values him that highly?
  24. I don't think we need to bother with pick 2 because they'll call our bluff, but teams with picks 4-7 would be hard pressed not to take a punt.
