  1. I completely understand the logic of keeping Stretch in the team, even if he needs more development. Better to get games into our youth rather than, frankly, players that won't be on the list in 4 months.
  2. Strange choice, considering how anti-ABC the entire Murdoch propaganda machine has become. Would've thought this decision goes against the players, but who knows. The entire media industry is incestual one way or another.
  3. Unbelievable. The stupidity of these players has no bounds. Flood the [censored] backline so they can't kick a goal you idiots!
  4. What the hell was Jones doing?? This team is INFURIATING.
  5. Howe, worst set shot for goal in the team.
  6. I'm glad we had the foresight to bring both ANB and Stretch into the team. Clever.
  7. Channel 7 commentators are the kings of hyperbole. Awful. The always-impartial Tim Watson was talking about how Geelong are now apparently eyeing off top 4 after tonight. Staggering.
  8. Mackie and Fox commentators already basically mocking the outcome next week for Enright's 300th, discussing the post-win festivities in the final match before the bye. Sigh.
  9. Lots of interesting disussion about the tactics teams are using to stop Port's gameplan this year. I don't think they've necessarily gotten worse as a team, but everyone's just worked out the game plan. The fast running, very offensive team from last year took the league by surprise (as did the Bulldogs early this season), but Roos definitely led the way in stopping their run. You flood the corridor and make their quick kicking style impossible with lots of contests and manning up. Geelong did an exemplary job of this tonight, and deserved that win. Great to see Clark miss out on it, too. In fact, they are playing better without him.
  10. Noted one of the commentators snorted after Bruce made a comment along the lines of "Rivers seems to have turned into a real player since moving to Geelong."
  11. So infuriating that a team like Geelong almost seem to have transitioned from the old into the new seamlessly. Their intensity and pressure tonight is immense. Shudder to think what a team playing like this will do to us next week.
  12. Must be nice having an extra mill in the salary cap.
  13. For anyone who thought we stood a chance, forget it. We missed our chance the trade period before last; Roos saw his talent a mile off and tried hard to get him; just couldn't convince the Giants. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-06-10/shiel-staying-put-star-giant-inks-new-deal
  14. Everything going the Pies way. We make one tiny mistake and they convert straight away.
  15. Just put my money down. The man's an inspiration. Hopefully everyone on here who can afford it puts down a donation tomorrow, no matter if it's large or small. A very worthy cause.
  16. Yet we lost by 100+ points and the Hawks didn't even have Hodge or Lewis in the team. What's that say about us?
  17. They're also reasonably fresh off finals success, including successive grand finals. Definitely helps.
  18. Saints put up a lot of fight despite the scoreboard. They most definitely don't drop their heads as soon as the players feel the opponent's lead is insurmountable (unlike our mob). Are our senior players just so used to losing they never expect to win? Either way, the Saints will most definitely not be an easy beat, as if anyone expected them to be after round one last year.
  19. Definitely eerie to hear Jones defending Howe in his presser saying how "invested" Jeremy is at the club. Heard all this before.
  20. Get the feeling we'll be saying the same about Howe in a year's time when he's stinking it up in a top 8 team (with the occasional mark of the week to hide his glaring faults).
  21. I'd like to think so, but we all know the fools running the MRP/Commission wouldn't dare cite Boomer for that. Don't forget the pathetic free to play decision last year just so he didn't miss a final.
  22. Boomer being his usual [censored] self. Priddis gets pinged for holding the ball and Boomer gets a free kick. Boomer then goes up behind Priddis' back, knocks the ball out of his hands and across the boundary, and throws his hands up to the umpire appealing for 50 metres. The dumbass umpire pays it. The gulf in class, respect and dignity between these two players is plain to see.
  23. Fantastic effort from the boys. So good to see the Rev back at the club.
  24. Sounds like we finally have some quality youngsters developing nicely in the seconds. The future looks bright. Hopefully the senior leaders stand up tomorrow on the big stage.
  25. Hird did a lovely deflection when the inevitable question about his coaching came up. He basically shifted the blame to the entire coaching group and took no responsibility. What a leader.
