  1. You dont read well Mo. There were a number of conditions required to be achieved and they were pretty core to achieving a higher placing on the ladder at the end of 2006. And I have spelled them out in the thread. They all had to be achieved because it was a big stretch from where we ended up at the end of 2006 to where we were aiming for as we were off the pace by a fair bit. As it stood at the end of 2006 we were just a finals side. I still think we were. Nothing has changed. However, its was clear from even in the NAB games in early 2007 that there were signs of trouble. The expectation of senior players perfoming above and beyond their level was in severe jeopardy. If anyone needs to do some revision it would be you. But skip the fantasy stuff Mo its becoming boring. I have clearly substantiated my position but how about you substantiate your assessment of how competitive our list was 12 months ago? Come on I dare you.
  2. You must be suicidal watching MFC rucks then. Just like Chris Judd! If Warnock does not want to go to MFC then we are stuffed. He is in free agent mode subject to his club of choice (other than MFC) coming to an agreement with Freo on a trade. If Freo and Carlton cant agree then Warnock spills to the PSD and we could snap him up in a less than preferred manner.
  3. You dont read pauper do you. If you read the thread you would get the picture rather than nitpicking to suit your crusade. Here is what I said: Here are the factors. Well Mo in 2007, we got slaughtered by injuries, our established players were either injured or performed worse than they did in 2006. Some significantly and our young brigade either stalled or went backwards. But of course you saw us as "competitive" in 2007. Nice try. But once a again you're the stooge!
  4. Well said Nasher but go light on the ridicule! B)
  5. Agreed. But if it was for more info than what is publicly disclosed then its an issue. FWIW, I thought there was pretty broad media coverage of the injury plight of MFC during the pre season to suggest that a number of players were having a limited or interrupted pre season.
  6. I think you are right Choko. If Harvey joins, where does this leave Paul Williams, the last of the footy department under the old administration?
  7. With Judd your period to success would indeed be shorter as his impact would have been immediate in a number of areas that we can only hope the three players we have now can aspire to. You clearly would not and do not know and it clearly suits your unfounded angst to cling to such nonsense for whatever reason you carry on with it.
  8. Even with your limited outlook, you could work out a case why you would chase him as a extremely talented footballer, leader of younger players, crowd pulling footballer. Have a look at Carlton and how they are building a side around him. Dim.
  9. Actually Mo, you should answer that question. Because you are the one that has tried to fabricate that exact pitch with your juvenile re casting of history. The inescapable fact was that by about round 5 2007, any hope of continuing your exalted glory days of 2004 to 2006, the side was shot and scope to improve let alone maintain our standing from 2006 had disappeared like a shadow in the sun. The problems started emerging then and continued into this year. Well done Mo. Another serve of big talking bluster from someone without any credible basis or fact. Bravo.
  10. FWIW, I am not aware of any request made by the Club in this regard and I cant see what business it is of outsiders to get that information which is firstly confidential about the player and secondly should be privy to only those within the Club's football department. However, I understand that when DB commenced pre season last year there were 20 players who were fit to commence and not subject to any modified program or who were injured and in recovery. Its also consistent with the fact that we went into the first pre season game against Geelong with the most threadbare side imaginable.
  11. How much have you seen of him? The fact that you have put him in the same category as our existing NQRs suggest you have not such much at all. If we had a Cox or Sandilands then I would not be so fussed but we need to land a good ruckman who can move into a 1st ruck role and hold it capability for many years with good upside. There is a reason that 3 clubs are having a serious crack at him.
  12. Positives from the Article: 1. MFC seeking realignment with MCC. Early days but this is something that IMO should definitely pursued. 2. Casey deal - Close to finalisation including alignment with Casey. 3. AFL has its financial people activately involved in the devlopment of the business plan. This should not be underestimated in the scheme of things. 4. AFL supported the MFC push with the MCC. 5. MFC making a clear submission to the AFL for $3million. Best it be done out in the open rather than rumoured and speculated about. 6. On track to have its HQ at Olympic Park by 2010. However Caro's figures on the debt still to be paid off post the debt demolition does not gel by $2 million.
  13. Yes. Even in these early stages he has shown he is AFL capable with good upside and potentially a 10 year ruckman. I guess your happy with Jamar and PJ going forward. I'm not.
  14. I strongly suggest you not refer to MFC players in that regard in the future. Thanks. Agree. But he is very very ordinary. Its says alot when a rookie ruckman usurps you for the No 1 ruck role in a VFL side. He should feel lucky Spencer got glandular. Given his time at Adelaide and his year there should grave concerns for the rest of his contract (2 years). I hope he improves next year and dramatically or otherwise its money down the drain.
  15. You had a hissyfit when I challenged your view in Point 193. And chose to make uninformed judgements about what I do or dont know about trades as defence. Get over yourself. I have.
  16. I thought that in 2006 about MFC. Be careful as WCE and Port have shown you can fall from grace pretty quickly in this game. North dont have an abundance of A grade players. They need to work out consistently. Its been a bit up and down this year. They need to be careful. However, I think Laidley is a little more ruthless than the previous footy administration.
  17. At this stage Warnock has only said he is leaving. He has not spoken of Club compensation through. I dont think under AFL rules we can offer money to another Club to buy a trade. Anyway a $100k is alot more to us than it is to them. Ouch! Its up to Warnock to agree terms with MFC. Otherwise Freo could banish Warnock to the "mercy" of the PSD rather than accept Carlton's trade offer. Its a good point about Schwab. Hopefully Schwab's and Connolly's history offers us some leverage. However given Warnock has said he is going, it would be in Freo's interest to cultivate Warnock's interest in Carlton or Richmond to spice the need to trade for either Club.
  18. Frankly I could not give a toss about how many trades you claim know or dont. You seem to think that you know about trades above anyelse. I rebutted your comment. If you are true to your trade you would not make such gullible uninformed assessments. From your above comment, its the worst case of pot calling kettle back I've seen for a while. I only know about you what you feel a need to brag about what you do on this forum. You're pretty impressed about it. Thanks for the titbits.
  19. You miss Demoniacs point. We may be a mile from a flag but North who should be in their challenging zone appear no better placed than we were in our apparent zone (or Mo's glory days) of 2004 to 2006. Their performance this year would suggest they are well off the pace of Geelong and Hawthorn. They are not helped by the fact that Geelong is a gorilla of the Competition and streets ahead of the rest. They need to do more than top up. They lack the stars and are key person reliant on Harvey (31 next year) and Simpson (33 next year). They lack firepower options up forward. Will they fall in to the same trap that MFC did and overrate their list?
  20. Well done. Its been rumoured for some time. You should let Murdoch know when you have a scoop. Agreed. Dont fool yourself about the number of trades, I am aware of. You have even less idea and you claim to be in the know. Dont need to when I have you. Keep punching Scotty.
  21. What and make them up like you do? I'd rather deal in the facts. Lame. In other words you dont so I know you are blowing the breeze. Its hardly a trump and Carlton may have few more. Spare me.
  22. Big mouth OX is a little more sheepish about Warnock to MFC than he has been meaning...... How do you know? I would not put anything past Carlton. If they are in the game, its definite watch your cards and your money. I dont think Richmond offers a great ticket given the knives now moving around Wallet's back. We hold a 2 of Clubs unless Warnock says he wants to come to MFC and agrees terms and we negotiate an attractive deal (from MFC's side) with Freo.
