  1. You are putting a player up for trade that probably will not get a list place on the worst team list in the AFL and calling another poster "an absolute fool". Worst case of pot calling kettle black on here for a while.
  2. And did brilliantly in the Bluey this year. In a truly crap side he could barely muster a vote......Quality in abundance...
  3. Thanks WB. If thats the case......Pass.
  4. At best he is a PSD consideration. And if it was a choice between a young prospect type like a Stefan Martin and Seaby, I take the young prospect.
  5. Its not a matter of looking at pick 4, its a matter of what you could decently trade to get it. And the only players that we have that would get you pick 4 are players we would not release. The players you put up are C to C- graders. I doubt MFC will seriously be involved in trade week because we have little that other teams would want and we would consider trading.
  6. You and Y_M should have a commiseration beer. In YMs case make it a weak shandy!
  7. There must be a hell of alot of distance between the "steps".
  8. I'd rather have a great player and it usually follows for a player to deal with the pressure of AFL and to have capacity to fulfil his talent he will generally need the character, attitude and maturity to achieve that. MFC have had stacks of players who have had mongrel and have done everything in their power to win. But they dont win becuase they dont have the ability. I believe you call them "try hards". The Fork has summed you neatly on this one.
  9. Absolutely spot on Dalrot. Someone else wrote that Bell plus pick 35 = pick 35. Thats about it. And Port would trade pick no 4 to get it? FFS, some posters have no idea about trade week and must think other Clubs are utter dunces.
  10. Agree. This thread suffers from a bad case of hype.
  11. Rivers with his OP will get us chicken feed if anything at the trade table . FFS, why are people so keen to trade him? Beggars belief.
  12. Great a flaky outside midfielder to compliment a third world midfield! Big pass on Ray thanks. Could never work out why the Dogs went for him in the first place.
  13. Fool. They established and ratified the process not the player. When the players voted him off the leadership group six months later it speaks volumes for where he was at.
  14. Third rate and injury prone. Will likely be overtaken by better younger players. Injury cruelled opportunities but a player that lack dimensions in his game.
  15. I agree but I think we will still keep him on a short term contract.
  16. Not if he is still crippled by OP. He needs to create a trade value as his fitness has left it at zero.
  17. He has had OP for the past two years. His trade value is significantly compromised. I cant see an upside in trading him. Lets get him fit and on the park first.
  18. After the past year, decisions are bleeding obvious and not hard at all. Voss needs to make a few more.
  19. The football dept inherited the final year of a overpriced contract for a player who began to deteriorate some years before. Given that 25% of the voting playing list were new to AFL football its clear that any senior player was naively adjudged leadership material. Says alot about the quality of the 2008 list this year. Yze was dumped half way through the year. Had he been uncontracted at the end of 2007, I could not see why the current football administration would not have done then what they did at the end of 2008. Should have been traded at the end of 2004 when the traits that undermined the final years of his career started to appear.
  20. So how is he good trade bait if he cant crack a game in a rock bottom side and he is in his 4th year? You must think other Clubs are dunces. A good summary
  21. Before my time but I am surprised that Norm Smith did not register a vote given La Fontaine, Beames and Warne Smith got a mention. After reading RedFox and other sources I have read, Smith was Hird like as a player. Or was Hird was Smith like?
  22. Good points about Flower. He was better than Grieg and much better than Bourke. The key issue for Grieg and Bourke is they had their fair share of flags and B'lows to distract the judges. IMO pound for pound Schimma was better than Greig.
