  1. Good points Queen C. Jones has his faults but people forget at 20 he has been our No 1 midifelder since McLean went down. Its been a tough year for him. Moloney is an interesting one. Along with the injury concerns, Moloney long kicking is as much a curse as a weapon because too often its used mindlessly and to the detriment and the team. His decision making, lack of pace and his flaky defensive game raise questions in my mind as to where he is at. Valenti characteristics represent much of what MFC already has and I dont think it needs more. Valenti does not counter any of those issues with skills that make him better than what we already have. Keep him rookied.
  2. Renews that wonderful partnership of Gardiner and Cousins.
  3. You should have stopped with your first statement. The statistics highlight little except for those that glean their impression of the game from Monday's paper without attending. From my position he does not provide anything more than you have established with some of other players yet is slower. I dont see what he will add to the existing list. He is an honest in and under player that has shown little to suggest IMO that he will get upgraded. Happy to leave to the coaching staff but he is fringe IMO.
  4. No one would sensibly bid for him given his fitness problems regardless of a Doctor's clean bill of health and the words if and may would suit your hopes for him.
  5. Honestly do you think a player crippled with OP for the past two years has any legitimate trade value? Or put it another way would you be happy if MFC chased with a valuable pick a player who had not played any football due to OP for the past two years? I certainly would not. This should be rule 1 when posting silly unrealistic trades. Tell him he's dreaming. B)
  6. A case of circumstance rather than form or potential. More than likely. There might be a reason but...
  7. How many PKF partners are interested in AFL and barrack for Melbourne? By sponsoring Cronulla, PKF would be concentrating on exposure in the Sydney market rather than the Melbourne market. And FFS, I cant stomach the double standards of sponsors like PKF and TAC who have a corporate message to promote but choose to align themselves with other industries like AFL where the activities of the players are under high scrutiny and the risk of public and at worst criminal scandals are prevalent and in Collingwood's case high. This incident may be a convenient way for PKF to fly the moral high standard flag while finding the perfect opportunity to exit a sponsorship they did not want to be in any way.
  8. 1. The silver predominated over the red and blue and means nothing to MFC. 2. The jumper's design had no connection with MFC, demons or the Clubs history. 3. It actually clashed with other sides. 4. It facilitated evidence for Vlad to confirm that MFC does not stand for anything. On the basis of that jumper its spot on. I think some of the blue on red guernseys suggested here are preferable. But I think the "white" options offered are at least more symbolic of MFC with the MFC or demons logo. Does not mean I like them. I just dont detest them as much as the abomination we wore this year.
  9. For a player that lacks speed, to survive in the midfield in AFL he needs to show that he can get lots of contested possession and to use it really well. I have seen nothing to suggest he has anything special that should command an elevation off the list at this point.
  10. It comments like that that suggest hyberbole is more important than reality. He is not in Voss's orbit. Voss was a something special in the midfield in his first year.
  11. They wont give pick 13-16 on Rivers and they are certainly not crying out for that sort of player. In regard to the Saints, you may well ask why. The increased pace of the game has exposed many of their "stars" as players who lack pace and dont work hard enough off the ball.
  12. Name them! It does not mean another stupid trade will be done. You really take other Clubs for patsies if you think a battling midfielder in a bottom side with poor disposal is good trade bait.
  13. He is out of contract at the end of this year. I am dubious whether we will elevate either Wona or Valenti. If we elevating one player it would be Wona on the proviso he improves his fitness dramatically. Valenti hasnt shown enough for mine. Possible cut or rookie for another year.
  14. The Hawks have Croad so why would they trade for OP crippled defender who lacks pace? Given we have Davey, Maric and Wona, why would we give up Frawley for limited forward opportunist that does not have the pace to get a run in a slow St Kilda midfield. Lack of pace and limited midfield skills is not what we want.
  15. Officially he will play his last game for MFC on Saturday. He has dubious future ahead of him in the AFL. So would a another club give pick 40 or prefer to get him in the PSD for nothing? I cant see them lining up to give up draft picks for White in the last tainted draft before GC comes in.
  16. Exactly so how is Bartram good trade bait for other Clubs?
  17. We are a bottom side with a surplus of players that cant hit targets by foot and hand. Our trade bait is week old fish!
  18. What does that say about Zomer then?
  19. Given Brisbane is not as close as it thought to the finals and given I dont think TJ would have shown a yelp in a third rate midfield, I would suggest no deal at all.
  20. I doubt WCE will be going full bore because they risk the priority pick. I doubt Geelong will go full bore because they achieve little and they have finals to focus on and want no injuries from the game. Expect an insipid one sided game. Cats by 50 points
  21. I dont think the objections of the old Board have any currency here. Good summary Key Deefender
  22. Carlton deliberately avoided putting a tag at any time on TJ during that game. TJ amassed 40+ possessions. Tank you Carlton. <_<
  23. I dont think he has had the benefit of a good pre season. Hopefully he can come back next year with a few other strings to the bow as he should expect more attention from opposition backs next year.
  24. It suits the agendas of some posters. Baffling at best.
  25. The Club has said TJ was traded for a number of reasons one of which was to address culture at the Club. Connolly told a supporters group that I was at that when they told the playing group that TJ was being traded there was no one objection to his going. Very odd that a senior 10 year player receives that sort of regard or lack thereof from a playing group. FWIW, I would hardly think a young star struck rookie is any benchmark for how a players is seen within the playing group. They will look up to all of the players.
