  1. There is a good reason Mitch Thorp is not on our or any other list. Hmmmm.
  2. Exactly. I still shudder at that silver monstrosity.
  3. It works each week in the schoolyard. If we are down to those tactics....
  4. Not clapping is one thing and thats fine. THere are times I would not cheer them off (eg Round 1). But people who hurl abuse and vective at the players after a loss are social menaces and should be dealt with by ground security
  5. How could it be simpler than that? I told you its irrelvant and the game is much quicker today than in 2000.
  6. The issue is about the clash of colour during the game that causes errors like Bartrams handball to an umpire. Its completely relevant.
  7. Its not about you. Its about the players and the speed of the game. Its a problem easily demonstrated to you by the game against WB. You carried on as usual like a pork chop about the clash and how it was a disaster. But now its not a problem..... You really cant present a coherent consistent position on too much WYL.
  8. Its a pity you can neither sustain or support an argument without trying to misrepresent the other case which in most cases has shown your position up...time and time...time again. The AFL also got more sense to see the need for change. If fact the VFL/AFL is different beast now to what it was 10 or 20 years ago. And blow me down the crowds, memberships and TV rights have increased dramatically. All teams should be wearing a predominantly white or non clash strip against the home team.
  9. WOW ...No Double WOW. You are shooting with both barrels now cowboy! It was a stupid comment the first time around. Its more ridiculous trying to clarify it. Got any profound revelations. If he is questionable in the backline, he will be questionable in the midfield too with his decision making.
  10. So Jumpers like North and Collingwood that have been in existence since at least 1925 and have clashed with vertical stripes for 85 years is an AFL plot???? The cads. I agree I dont trust Adrian Anderson or his great great grandfather Yosemite Anderson who designed the guernseys either.
  11. You are carping on a bit.....no alot. The issue is not whether you can see it but the players. I thought that would have been evident given the WB fiasco. EPL has clash guernseys and has not suffered. Your silly AFL conspiracy does not hold water. I find it highly unlikely you will be correct in 15 years given you are so wide of the mark so often these days. And I know if you shoot enough you will eventually hit a target but I wont hold my breath for you Hacker.
  12. I guess this uncomplimentary image of James Hacker of Yes Prime Minister putting on a Churchillian voice with "Land of Hope and Glory"..This scene is only short because at James Hacker realises he has lost the reality plot and stops. On the other hand you...
  13. Exactly. Very good description of events.
  14. More likely its the perennial cliches that we need to get rid of.
  15. Ugh. Warning: Poster patting himself on back for predicting a side to win a flag. But cant work how they develop top footballers. MFC are collecting a list of talented players who are being developed to compete, win and use the ball effectively. A game plan is not learnt in a week, It is not learnt in a month or a pre season. It takes a couple of seasons for the pay off to come particularly from younger players. Our window of opportunity is 2012 to 2015. But spare us your crystall ball So what game plan suits footballers who lack skill and will win games of football? If you are not skilful enough as say a Geelong then playing "man on man" will result in the more skilled opponent beating a less skilled opponent. On the contrary, getting players behind the ball does not produce lazy players. Lazy players wont maintain the speed of the game for 4 qtrs. And Bailey wont win a premiership this year or next year?? Whoa ...big call there bro. FFS, as if anyone was expecting that.
  16. The fact is he isnt the complete package nor is he anything like Viney, Jako, Ox or Stinger. They excelled in their area of expertise. Sylvia only gives glimpses of what might be. If he continues to play like he did against WBs and WCs then he will. At present he is burning the get out of jail cards. He has scope to improve as I cant see a ready replacement for him coming from Casey. Its been clearly explained why your allegations were removed and why they were inappropriate as a topic for discussion on this site. Dont play the victim ticket. Ugh. This must be it. Of course.
  17. My term "cute" refers to effort or lack thereof.
  18. On the contrary it was carp pass which was not placed to his advantage on a 1 on 1. It was kicked over his head. Very poor disposal and a forward deserves better opportunities. The passer was tied between having a ping or passing and ended up making a confused lousy ping for goal
  19. Three years ago I called PJ a 200cm rover who could not ruck, could not mark and did not have any physical presence to be an effective big man at AFL level. I made those comments against the grain of what nearly every other poster on this site including yourself who completely overrated him big time. I took alot of misguided and vitriolic flak for it too. Especially from you. He had a lot of cute skills which look handy on him but has none of the core big man skills necessary to make it. Picked it early, called it, explained where his shortcmings were and had proven it in spades. You have been pantsed on this Dappa and you just keep digging. Maybe its because you visualised PJ from your own stated footy bakcground which has clouded your better judgement. I also called Newton flawed earlier than that while you were waxing about his Sandy form. All his foibles have come well and truly to the surface now. FWIW, Bartram has proved me wrong this year. Not many others. You's be wishing you had that strike rate. This isn't a gloat but just another time where I have had to correct your facts and also explain my critical assessment of PJ was clinical not personal. He won the coveted best 2nd ruck in the AFL medal. Ugh! He was doing more of the same. Its happened for so long now that most astute supporters are now sharp to it Glad you realise it now. Took a while. Says alot when a raw underdeveloped 20 year old with a fari way to go is the preferred 2nd ruck against a 26 yo eight season veteran who should be coming into his prime but cant and has never cut it at AFL. It was a bizarre one. Newton got put on the rookie list. If Meesen had not been a dud but a half decent ruck, I wonder if they would have asked PJ to take a rookie spot. Both Newton and PJ should go year end. One does not justify the existence of the other. You are wrong. Newton's retention was a mistake. My comment was that it was never the earth shattering club busting error that some melodramatic dweebs tried to make it. Giving Meesen a 3 year deal was a mistake. There small mistakes in the scheme of things. You dont want to many of them though. A players survival on the list is based on what he brings to the table as a footballer. If he is a spud then it does not matter what the disposition is of the other 43. Fitzpatrick is the same height as PJ and is 18. He was taken as project player to play forward/ruck. Or maybe he could be a 200cm rover like PJ?? If you actually did some research, a number of the AFL ruckman out there were taken originally as rookies. And given "what I've been saying all along." then you statement here contradicts your position: Agre. Makes the above quote even more contradictory.
  20. Agree. Nothing in it. Calls for players to "fly the flag" really appeal to the LCD supporters base sense. You have to foight to show you are tuff!! Watts is going to be tested in every sense out there. He knows it and he has to overcome it.
  21. On the MFC vs WCE game......Why didn't WCE wear there predominant white strip. Both strips were too close IMO.
  22. Think about. If you are losing the midfield contests then your forward line is fighting for crumbs. What also makes it hard when you midfield make poor disposal options inside 50? Other posters have also correctly pointed out we have a number of our better forward options at present out injured, coming back from injury, still raw, useless (PJ) or just playing like blockheads (eg Sylvia)
  23. It depends alot of who you play and where you play. Unless you look through and analyse the attendances properly you will be drawing incorrect conclusions
  24. Package Rivers with PJ. They will be dribbling with that. If we can package Meesen as well. We must play hard on the deal.
