  1. Its a finite process and eventually unless you have a sustained profitable business model it does not go far. We are in debt and we dont make a profit. Its stretching it to say otherwise. And your reference to 1958 was irrelevant and silly to the present. FFS it 52 years ago.
  2. Agree. There is still a long list of AFL footballers ahead of him wating for the gong!
  3. You made the uninformed statement that I quote in Post 23. North outside a couple of years in the 1970s were always a battling club for battlers. We only cleared that debt by a tin rattle...not through normal operations. We are still a basket case just that the situation is not as dire as 3 years ago Some of them are even dead by now.......
  4. Agree. Ablett and Carey may have had their rough times but they have not been convicted of serious offences. Now what would you do if Carl Williams had been a star for Collingwood of the stature of Buckley, would you exclude him from the Hall of Fame? I would. If Carey or any great footballer had been convicted of serious crime or really nasty criminal behaviour then I dont think they should be included in the Hall of Fame.
  5. I think the Footy committee had worked out Rivers liabilities hence Garland, Frawley and Warnock preferred to Rivers for Brisbane. And he was only a late replacement last week for Bail. Hardly a ringing endorsement
  6. Go and re read what you quoted me saying and ask how that relates to your change of topic? It does not. Surely you jest. Financially we still are a basket case. And we are yet to pull big crowds. Hawthorn at its most dire would still embarrass MFC. MFC supporters do take fickleness to a new level.
  7. Any chance Rivers might actually match up on a player rather than play a luxury role. I cant see Rivers surviving over Warnock and Joel Mac gives us better run from defence. You must have missed the Brisbane game...pity. Warnock can take Hall. If we are competitive in the midfield then Hall will struggle for supply.
  8. I am sure you are big enough to ask Dean yourself. Better still ask him about the game plan and ask him to repeat slowly the parts that are not clear the first time. Oh and tell him we should only kick forward I think you have enough to sort out with yourself. Good luck. B)
  9. Its no wonder Clubs have closed sessions at training.
  10. You clearly have not read the history of the North Melbourne football club.
  11. If you actually understood the game plan ( and I mean understand) you would know why Grimes changes the direction of the play. And putting back to Casey for disciplinary reasons - good grief.
  12. We did not have a choice as he had a contract. If he was out of contract last year, he was finished.
  13. Even without a ready ruckman, they could not be that silly to recruit a player with LT foot stress fractures
  14. Agree. But its better than not having a club in the future. And by the m'ship and spectaotor numbers...not many seem to care either.
  15. 20 games of AFL and his star is rising and you are last person to see it. How unusual.
  16. They would have some continuity of playing list etc in the new entity in the Gold Coast and a better hope of survival. Subject to the AFL's whim, NM look precarious. I dont think the situation with Brisbane and Fitzroy is a good analogy. South Melbourne to Sydney would have been better. Anyway they have dug their trench and can lie in it.
  17. Harsh when he has been injured. Leaving aside the past month, can anyone remember a game where MFC has dominated in the past 3 years? Its very hard to dominate when your midfield has been 3rd world and destroyed each week.
  18. I think there was a caveat on that two years ago. He was still to return from long term injury. I think that killed his trade value. But your inference two years ago was correct that he was not critical to our needs. I think your assessment is right on the money now.
  19. Garland has played 24 games and kicked 2 goals in his career to date. So that game against Geelong must have been memorable. Where were you sitting on the day?
  20. Ugh! That dollop of common sense will be lost where its badly needed most. And its r-e-t-a-r-d-s..And you were going so well.
  21. When you get pinged for holding the ball...its a clanger. Vintage Brock there.
  22. In an absolute nutshell. What Garland was in his junior days is irrelevant to what he is now.
  23. They got to the PF in 2007 with Harvey being there only real star. They have been outstanding in getting as far as they have with their list. So they are not an average side even by your own cooked definition. I have already explained the reason for the losing streak.Go back and read. Today was always a danger game after the high of last week. MFC became the hunted this week and they need to learn how to handle the week in week out pressure of AFL. So even by your own standards you agree that North are a good side with a good future? So what does that tell you....Pssst they are not average.
