  1. I Made a trade offer to Mad_Melbourne a week ago and forgot about it. Came on to cancel and you've accepted. Well played by you sir, considering Buddy will get suspended. I lose out big time!
  2. I just voted against the trade and it looks like its disappeared. You owe me Eth. Give me Ben McGlynn and we're even B)
  3. In the last 2 years he took some ripper marks jumping into packs in defence. A moment later he would be down the other end of the ground kicking an important goal. These are two major factors of his game that are missing this year.
  4. Where there's smoke there's fire. In football politics not a truer sentence can be said.
  5. I actually thought the poll was divided 50/50 but i can see how it can be seen otherwise.
  6. If Warnock were good cover then he would have played on Monday when we needed him most. Unfortunately the match committee have lost all trust in him, and rightfully so.
  7. Strauss has played two games and I would rate him around a B for both of those games. Moloney has played 11 games. I would give him A+ for 4 games, B for another and then E for the rest. If the best and fairest was awarded purely on games we won then yes he would be winning. Unfortunately he has been very average in losses
  8. Liam Jurrah is currently on 26 goals. This means he is on track for a 50 goal season. Many people suggest that he is playing lazy, uninspiring footy. If he plays the same way all year and finishes with 50 goals, has he had a good year?
  9. Every week after a loss there is criticism on our coach for whatever reason. It seems that some people can't accept that sometimes one team is just simply better than another. I think there is obvious improvement with most players on our list and this is greatly to do with Dean Bailey. As a whole we may not have come along as quickly as people had hoped but we can obviously see that our young players are improving every week. Whats your thoughts?
  10. Whens the last time a captain was dropped to the VFL? Surely he's close
  11. 20 – Colin Garland Was our best defender before getting injured. His loss has been made worse by the fact there has been no suitable replacements. Will be a welcome addition when fit again. Grade – B 21 – Lucas Cook VFL- haven’t seen him play 22 – Brent Moloney Very good when we are winning. Could possibly have 12 Brownlow votes. However Brent has gone missing badly when he are losing and need him most. Some say he needs Jamar, I say he’s a front runner Grade – C 24 – Liam Jurrah Has kicked what could only be described as the laziest 26 odd goals ever. Jurrah hasn’t been overly exciting but has still managed to kick goals. He plays a lot better when flying for marks and he hasn’t done this for a while. He could be anything but so far this year he’s been near on nothing Grade – C 27 – Jared Rivers How do you judge him? When he plays the role his best at he has been sensational. When he is forced to play key position he is badly shown up. He is very important to our side but needs Garland back to free him up. Grade – B- 28 – Joel MacDonald Somewhat of a forgotten man for most of the season so far. Dropped after round 1, dominated Casey and has come back in and provided the hardness we need. It can be frightening when the ball is in his hands but he has the confidence and experience we need down back. Grade – C+ 31 – Tom Scully Only played two games but was in the the top 3 both times. He is going to be a superstar of the AFL. It looks unlikely we’ll keep him but we should move heaven and earth trying to Grade – B 33 – Ausin Wonaemirri Lets be entirely honest here. Besides kicking a few goals in 2008 ‘Aussie’ has done nothing. Grade - All things considered it is hard to grade Aussie fairly. 34 – Stefan Martin Most improved player by a mile. Casey reserves last year and now dominating in the ruck. Jamar’s injury could be a blessing in disguise as Martin improved every week. Hopefully we don’t lose him… Grade – A 35 – Luke Tapscott We finally got to see Tapscott and he didn’t disappoint. Tough as they come he sets a standard for teammates. Has shown he’ll be a very good player. Would love to see his long kicking used up forward. Grade – B 36 – Aaron Davey The most disappointing player on our list, bar none! Gets tagged and can’t cope. Either play him forward or get rid of him. Grade – F 37 – Max Gawn Thrown into the big time out of necessity and wasn’t too bad. Obviously not ready for AFL but at least he’s had a taste Grade – D 38 – Jeremy Howe Looks very good. Strong mark, good decision maker and doesn’t back out of contests. He’s only played 2 games but he looks to be ahead of Bate, Dunn etc. Grade – C+ 39 – Neville Jetta I have a massive soft spot for Jetta. Tough as nails and makes every tackle stick. Unfortunately he makes some terrible decisions and his skills lets him down. He needs to improve on this. Grade – D 40 – Mark Jamar Was our most important player before going down. Will be interesting to see how he and Martin work together. Hopefully Jamars input doesn’t decrease. Grade – A 41 – Troy Davis VFL – unseen 42 – Jake Spencer VFL – knee injury 43 – Tom McDonald VFL – unseen 44 – Rohan Bail Came from nowhere to be a best 22 player. Runs harder than anybody and is tough as nails. We desperately need him back as he is our #1 tagger and this will release McKenzie more. Grade – B+ 46 – Sam Blease VFL – unseen 47 – James Strauss Been very impressive in the last two weeks. He looks very comfortable at half back and I’m excited by what he’s doing. Has come a long way since round 1 and 2 last year Grade – B 48 – Jack Fitzpatrick VFL – unseen Rookies Michael Evans – Has been given a taste. Can definitely find the footy, he just can’t kick. This will come and he will be a very good player. Daniel Nicholson – James McDonald mkII? Unlucky to be sub both games. If given a full game there is no doubt he will show us what he can do. Tackles hard, runs hard, team player. Should be given more games. Michael Newton- His chance to prove he could play another year was in the last few weeks. Unfortunately for him he got injured once again. I am a Juice fan, (probably the only one) but I think his time is up Melbourne FC – People are disappointed with our season yet we are still within striking distance of the 8. In previous years we would be happy with this result. I read into this that we have improved and there will be continued improvement. Beating Essendon on the Friday night stage was a huge step forward for Bailey and the club. Our next 4 games are winnable and we should finish with 10.5 wins this season. Anything more is a success, anything less is a failure.
  12. 1 – Matthew Warnock Was kept on our list as cover if Frawley or Garland went down. What happens? Garland goes down and Warnock flops. It will take a miracle for him to survive a delisting at years end Grade - F 2 – Nathan Jones One of the most improved. Kicking has gotten better and generally holds his own. Still tries to do way too much but has locked him in as best 22. Grade - B 3- Clint Bartram Would be one of the first picked each week. Skills still a worry, although they have improved. Gutsy as they come and still only young-ish! Perfect back pocket player for us. Grade - B 4 – Jack Watts While the positive comments still aren’t flowing in, the negative comments have seized. Why? Because the boy has shown he can play! Starting him as a sub against West Coast drew criticism but it looks like it was a masterstroke. Wattsy WILL be a 200 game player and IS going to be very very good. Grade – B+ 5 – Jordan Gysberts His good games have been very good. His average games have been extremely uneventful. Went missing badly against Collingwood and West Coast. Some say you can judge a player based on how they perform in losing sides. He’ll need to improve his consistency in the second half of the year. Grade - C 6 – Matthew Bate Done. Gone. Delisted. He simply hasn’t come on. History has shown it can take Bate a good month or so to warm up to AFL level. The improvement of those around him has meant he isn’t afforded this luxury anymore. Trade Bait or gone. Grade - F 7 –Jamie Bennell Just doesn’t do enough. Sure he has great hands and great pace but his kicking lets him down and he doesn’t find enough space. Been very good in patches though and this is a good sign Grade – C+ 8 – James Frawley Understandably slow to start the season but has been a shining light in recent weeks especially with Garland going down. Always takes the best forward and we’re very lucky he’s signed on for another 4 years. Grade – B 9 – Jack Trengove An outstandingly consistent start to the season. Can’t fault his game. He continues to run hard, tackle hard and kick goals. Couldn’t be happier with his game Grade - A 10 – Cale Morton Harshly marked by a few around here. People forget he’s still very young. He is a great kick, a great mark and makes good decisions. I still hold out for hope that he turns into our own Brendan Goddard. Grade – B+ 12 – Colin Sylvia Outstanding year. Has become our best and nearly most important player. Doesn’t lose a 1 on 1 contest, runs hard all day and kicks important goals. Leading our best and fairest, surely. Grade – A+ 13 – Jordie McKenzie Hasn’t he made a difference since coming back from injury? If everybody played with his determination and attacked the football the same we wouldn’t lose. Jordie has his limitations but has played to his strengths. We are a far better side when he is playing Grade – A 14 – Lynden Dunn Had a break out year in 2010 but others have been preferred ahead of him. He may have become a victim of the sub rule with a backup ruckman being preferred over a h/jack of all trades. Has shown he can play at this level but I don’t see him getting much more of a chance Grade – C 15 – Ricky Petterd Fans cry out for Petterd’s inclusion regularly but he has let us down in most games he’s played this year. Maybe a forward role isn’t for Ricky? He started as a good half back. Swap with Tapscott maybe? Grade – D 16 – Jack Grimes Before injury Jack was doing OK. His kicking at times though was atrocious. Can’t fault his endeavour or football smarts but its worrying how often he is getting injured. Its no good being a star if you’re never on the track. Grade – D 18 – Brad Green S-T-ruggling at the moment. Maybe the captaincy is too much for him? Maybe last year was a fluke. Whatever it is, it needs to change fast. On form he is not best 22.. Grade – E 19 – Addam Maric The talk in the pre season was he set the place alight. He looked good in the NAB Cup and showed glimpses in his 6 games this year. Unfortunately he might be that couple of inches too short and that one step to slow to make it at this level. Grade - D
  13. I actually think he is very much like Bartel too. He's a great mark for his size, tough and can kick a goal. Perfect player!
  14. Riv, im not to sure we can get a deal done. I'm only really keen on Pendlebury, but I don't see you handing him over cheaply. You are short on rucks at the moment. I could throw in Griffin/Hampson to get something done? RR, Roughead interests me, as do Enright and O'Keefe. Straight swap for any of those?
  15. Is anybody interested in Jonathon Grifffin? 38 hitouts, 6 kicks, 6 handballs, 5 marks in a team that got smashed. Will play until Sandi is back and maybe even longer. If you're interested, i'm after a mid who will start on my field. Others available are: Liberatore, Armitage, Vince, Juice, Kosi, Salopek,Corey.
  16. Watch him play. Tough as nails, never backs down from a contest and is pretty skillful. Haven't seen many of their games this year so i don't know why he's so out of favour. Would love him in the red and blue
  17. I thought I had no chance DL7. Coreys first goal in 60 odd games was just what the doctor ordered. Good game!
  18. The club have continuously said they want to get continuity with the playing group going forward. These players are obviously the future so the more they play together the better, regardless if they are a little underdone. There's no use playing Warnock in Frawleys spot as he is a different player to Frawley and all players around him will have to alter their game style to suit. I fully support what the clubs doing.
  19. I'm in need of a goal kicker and I am ready to negotiate. Players I am willing to offload for the right goal scorer: Broughton Fisher Ebert Harris McPharlin Armitage I'm hoping for someone who kicks around 3 goals a game.
  20. Her names Claire. I met her mother two summers back.
  21. The offer remains High Tower... until Tucky starts dominating
  22. I thought Broughton for Ottens was a fair trade... It seems ruckmen are a high commodity. Especially those with DP. Hopefully Kosi comes in and plays ruck! That will solve a big ruck problem for me
  23. Everytime I am on the 'sign players' page I get excited when I see the stats next to Lenny Hayes. I go to sign him up until I remember he's done. Its gotten me about 4 times!
