You don't get to play on Ryan Schoenmakers every week.

Herald Sun reports Gysberts to be shown the door...Neeld has gone mad!!!
Geddy Lee replied to Tex's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'd be pretty disappointed if he left. Lots of time has been given to other raw recruits and he's had a few injuries. He actually displayed decent inside and outside work, and has good attributes, albeit nothing too amazing at this stage. The only reason he would leave if Misson has told MN that he's many years off where he needs to be (conditioning, strength, and endurance wise) and MN has others in mind for a similar role. -
Good. Don't want.

And another one bites the dust - Cook

This is exactly what I was about to post. Wonder how Cale is going. -
Too many football clubs, not enough talent?
-
Hmm I still like Junior more than anyone on our list . . . Well done Junior, great career.
-
So is Gysberts going too?
-
He is averaging 6 games a year over his entire career. He cannot get a spot in the worst team in the league. He has no great strengths. He had 14 tackles in a game once, which was the exception, not the rule, of his defensive efforts. Whether RP is or isn't on the MFC list next year makes very little difference to our fortunes next year.

Why is everyone saying Rivers is going? Are we working on our Demonland determinism?
-
This is like the 12 days of Christmas, but with Melbourne players leaving. The 12 days of MFCNQRs.
-
Suck on that Brisbane!
-
Jeff Farmer fulfilled his potential with us. His best years were in red & blue; 77 and 79 goals in two season respectively iirc.
-
Unsurprised. Thanks Misfud, Mark Robinson, Jurrah, Grant Thomas, Jason Akermanis and every other [censored] who has made this year borderline unbearable.

Melbourne Supporters Are Too Accepting of Player Non-Performance
Geddy Lee replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
Dear Administrators of Demonland, If THIS is the current quality of discussion on D'land, and the web traffic is costing you $$$, then maybe just put the site offline until the trade period starts. Looking out for you xoxo GL. -
I hope we're not shy come list trimming time
Geddy Lee replied to Keepin up with the Joneses's topic in Melbourne Demons
The funny thing about Bennell is for that he was the ONE player we pinched from West Coast (if reports are believed); so they got Nik Nat, Darling, Shuey - we got Bennell. HI-larious. -
We stuffed up pick 12? No [censored] - we've screwed up three #1 picks!
-
He just clearly explained the problems between Moloney and Neeld. Net effect is that we get rid of a well paid senior player that refused to lead when we desperately needed leadership.
-
Well we didn't perform.due diligence with Dustin Martin who would be our best mid so it's all related.
-
We still played pretty well against Freo here, and may well have won if we hadn't lost Jamar very early and another player later in the game.

My sarcasm detector just exploded.

Poor Schwabbie. He meddles too much in the FD earlier in his tenure and cops heap of flak. Gets the hell out of there, and cops an equal amount of flak for this year's on-field results. He can't win either way. The way we've gone this year, get Schwabbie back in there!
-
Noooope. But love the enthusiasm.
-
If we don't start winning games he won't see out his tenure. There won't be an MFC to officiate. I think he's done a decent job, but the Energy Watch thing was really unbelievable. Don't think Cam ever saw The Smartest Guys in the Room.

Who We Picked/Missed ... A Tale of Recruiting Woe
Geddy Lee replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
Can mods put a muzzle on this dolt? -
I think you've got a template post saved, and replace "Royal" with "Bohdan" or who ever is under the gun. Brett Ratten is going to lose his job and it's not entirely his fault. Just as Royal will lose his and yes there were obvious factors outside his control but that's what happens when you have 35,000 stakeholders.
