I was going on what the Freo Medical report to the tribunal said that he would require years of dental work. So it’s not just the cost of the implants. I’m not sure about the detail. Safe to say it will be very costly.

You know what insurers are like they’ll only fork out for the bare minimum and not necessarily the ongoing costs.

I reckon Gaff and/or Methcoast should bear financial responsibility for the many years of dental work to follow - could easily be more than $100,000 for implants and the like.

Gaff is genuinely hurting and remorseful - Methcoast and Simpson on the other hand have been an absolute disgrace implying provocation and it being an accident. Disgusting performance by them.

He swung a punch spontaneously- he wouldn’t have had time to think about where it may have landed. A poor defence. The fact that landed where it did and caused the damage that it did makes him culpable whatever the supposed intention. He has forfeited the right to play again this year - but I hope he is allowed to move on after he’s served his time.

Gaff was so obviously in shock after it happened that I doubt he has any understanding of how and why it happened. Purely a subconscious reflex act but no excusing it and requires a big penalty. Chances are he was not in a good mental space going into the game and snapped and I hope he seeks help.

I think the outrage is because the victim is 18 and the damage done so severe. Not being able to eat solids for a month and 4 displaced teeth. It was a very forceful hit. I wonder if he was wearing a mouth guard.

Really good to see him back but I do remember there being a question mark about his kicking especially in front of goal before his injury. I’m not sure whether there is room for him with Melksham in the side. Happy to be proven wrong.

It was a bit tongue in cheek however his vfl form has been consistently good. Buddy is their only good tall. Beyond him we need to cover their smalls in Ronke and Papley who are dangerous so I think Wagner will come in.
