I think it is self evident that soft tissue inflammation and/or tearing would be exacerbated by applying further load. It clearly looked worse the longer he was on the ground- he could hardly walk by the end of the game.

I don’t think goal scoring is our problem. Defensive efforts to stop opposition scores is the issue.

Just had the displeasure of listening to Brendan Goddard on the ABC. He is now a commentator for them - inarticulate, rambling, full of empty words - should fit in well.

I thought we had some bad guernseys - this takes crap to another level.

I thought he was a chance for round 1. His JLT form was quite reasonable. While he is not in the best 22 he is a good depth player and deserves his place on the list. I hope he comes back strong.

Also listened to Christian Salem on SEN and it was a pretty vanilla interview but he did single out Fritsch as having a great preseason- if he goes to another level it will be fantastic for our season. Also there were great raps on KK - can’t wait for him to get on the park.

Westhoff is the matchup that worries me. He is a gun - highly mobile, good in the air and dangerous around the goals. If we can neutralise him it will go a long way towards winning the game.

TMac would have to be close to the top 5 - just ahead of Melk IMO

Hibberd is the least of our worries. He was rusty early but worked his way back very well. Still a key to our backline. Can’t wait to see Lever, May, Lord Nev, Salem and Hibberd play together. As good good a backline as there is in the competition. I still have reservations about our forward line without Hogan. It remains to be seen whether TMac can maintain his form without him.

With Preuss having an adductor sprain I would like to know what he has got in his sling.

My concern is that we look slow - getting caught with the ball too often and have trouble breaking free to allow good ball movement
