  1. 😍 Spent many a childhood summers running around that dustbowl. Don't know if they could handle a friday night fixture though. No worse than kardinia I suppose
  2. Haha. Somebody having to coax words out of @AmsterdamDeesFan is a first 🤣
  3. Can we trade content items if we build them up? Maybe even future 1st and 2nd round content items?
  4. This is exactly what I thought too
  5. Went to bed with high hopes for how off road this thread would go. Didn't disappoint 👏
  6. It was on rails? Legit though skuit was pronounced skew-it?
  7. @skort but Skuit had such a nice 'uiiiii' sound!
  8. I loved it when we took a punt on Bennel. Think it says a lot about our club that we back ourselves in to support players with off field issues and we have an even more mature and solid culture now than then. Also, wasn't Hunter VC at Dogs? Must have some leadership qualities
  9. Do you mean if he played for us he would lead to Weid?
  10. Wake up to find Yze convo has reached God-tier.
  11. Clearly, our once in two generations premiership coach has lost the players.
  12. BT will be confused regardless
  13. Why naught?
  14. No doubt that Geelong and Scott are terrific operators, kudos to them. Now, with that out of the way, I detest the armchair ride that club get from the AFL and hope that the headrest catches on fire about 4/5 into the GF and the whole thing falls off the tracks.
  15. Oof, Luke. Dunno how often it works when people return to WA. The childhood experience is so different from the adult one, I reckon, if you have been exposed to bigger, less isolated cities. Not to mention becoming the biggest, youngest, flashiest fish in a very small pond. His family is going to need to get around him, cos he will be on the backpage more often than not. Personally, the thought feels suffocating. I wish gratitude and luck to the young fella and would much rather see the Dockers land him than WCE who can continue to go and [censored] themselves forever and a day.
  16. Super proud of Daisy and, more importantly, her teammates or those in her life who are playing important roles in educating others. She is a beaut and has the profile, but I reckon there's a fair few in that team who are making sure that there is better cultural awareness and understanding than what we've had until now. (Make them all queen/king for a day then abolish the whole thing.)
  17. Just here to say thanks for everyone who works with numbers. Can't stand 'em, myself.
  18. Best of luck Jacko, thanks for your service and for being part of something that I think all of us here will savour for the rest of our lives. I would be all up for MFC fans cheering him thankfully for the rest of his career. Although that might mess with his head a bit 🙃 Ta Dogga!
  19. Some might refer to the latter as Ben Brown's wasteful year...
  20. Culture is important. So too is a decent, second tall forward. Following a premiership side has been a new experience for all of us and I'm sure we've all learned a lot from it as well. I thought we would go B2B but now I have more understanding of how hard thay can be. But just because we didn't win it all this year does not mean that we need to throw out the program and start again completely. We tweak some things and go again. That's what successful teams look like. It's not 'all or nothing'. We will be competing for a few years and, only when this team starts to wane will be able to judge our success properly. If we get to this position again (reigning premiers) it will be interesting to see how, next time, we all deal with the expectation that comes with scaling the mountain. Same goes for the players and coaches. Go Dees
  21. Real bummer but that's footy. Still better than being a perennial cellar dweller. I reckon our list is set up for long term goodness and long term Goodwin-ness. This game is tough as anything and nothing can be taken for granted. Didn’t make it this year, have another crack next year and then again the year after. All I ever wanted was a team that competes and, despite this season going down the tube, this is still what that looks like. Go Dees (and c'mon Freo somehow.)
  22. Mmm. Despite some strong arguments against, I'll back in our premiership coach. If it doesn't pan out, it doesn't pan out. Been a great year and I'm grateful to everyone at our club for making it what it is. P.S I reckon it'll pan out.
  23. I highly doubt JVR will come in. Great VFL form and such a prospect, but what we haven't seen is how he shapes up against AFL players at training. Seems to me they reckon he still has a way to go to close that gap. Personally I'm stoked we are no longer the club throwing great white hopes to the wolves. Goody is a method man and his method is process and stability.
  24. No doubt there's been a few of these for the Brissy coach in the last week. He's been burning sage, sipping cacao and paying homage to every tree/goal post god he can to try and dispel his team's Demons.
  25. A mighty test of our team and club. Leave it to the experts whether he plays or not. As to the argument that he will be targeted, well... I'm not sure how you legally target a fibula...
