You build up a lot of karma points being a Demon in WA. Hopefully what is coming, what you all might get to enjoy, is redemption for every smug look of pity and off-hand comments each of you has ever endured.

I have been quietly thankful to Josh Mahoney during the course of this wonderful season. He did a lot of hard yards in bygone years from which we are now reaping the benefits. Hope he gets the AFL gig. Seriously capable fella.

What amazing times. It ain’t easy being a Dees supporter in WA and, I imagine, SA. Stoked that those of you among us get this kind of opportunity and there is no doubt that you will do the job for the lot of us.

What a day yesterday, you bloody beautiful MFC faithful! A lifetime of Kardinia trauma was unexpectedly treated in the space of 34 minutes. After collecting myself from the blubbering mess I had been reduced to, I then spent chunks of the day intricately explaining the magnitude of the moment to scores of baffled Italians, Germans and Canadians who were paying me to hear about Dutch history but instead were regaled with tales of the historic warriors called Max Gawn and Clayton Oliver. Found myself riding through West Amsterdam at 5am belting out Grand Old Flag in the rain. A day for the ages. I [censored] love you all and I [censored] love this football team.

Quite right. Fortunately, that is not the point or aim of the EU ?. Sorry to everyone who is having to go back into lockdown. It truly, truly sucks.

In the last two weeks I have been in Hungary, Germany and the Netherlands. They are all at different stages in their different responses to the pandemic. Not a single country has had the same approach as another. Even here in NL, things were starting to ramp up again, they opened clubs and now there’s massive spread through the young adult demographic. Soon we will be dark red on the “countries that are [censored] with corona map”. So it’s different everywhere.

Yea it might happen, but it might not. We smashed Brisbane and the Dogs. Reality is, that is the same team that has lost to two bottom of the table teams and one other team in the eight. Gotta love it, anything can happen and I’d rather be here than in the position of any of those other teams, who are all chasing us.

I think it was a good, long term ploy to get Richmond out of the eight. Worst thing about this kind of loss is that it gives the wrist slashers reason to clean the cobwebs off their keyboards and foist the extremities of MFCSS on the rest of us. The thing is, we ARE still top of the ladder, not sitting 5th like many seem to think. Obviously there are things to work on, but the beauty of having 10 straight wins to start the season is that we can afford to be exposed now, rather than at the pointy end when it will really matter. Call me an optimist, but once you’ve done that, go check out the ladder again.

Was extremely angry straight after, but have settled without the MFCSS kicking in too much. It's about how we respond to this and I am curious to see it.

Given the culture of team-based selflessness permeating through the joint, I suspect that there has been high class communication between coaches and all of Brown, Weideman and TMac. Brown would not have been dropped out of the blue and I'm sure everyone is on the same page in terms of it being a long season (+ finals season) and that we are attempting to build something so immense that there will be bucketloads of success to go around for years to come. Everybody will get a pail to carry home.

Fantastic Dees. BT whispering in the commentary box, trying his ASMR routine, made me turn on the abc commentary. Then had to listen to Mark McClure cheering on his hapless Blues. I stuck with it because that's how bad BT is. The Demons!!!
