  1. I like how we have recently shifted Schache to CHB to assist the development of Jeffo and Kentfield forward. I actually thought he looked decent down there last week in tough conditions.
  2. He is a perfect candidate to trade in for Gus spot both in age, player type and positional flexibility. He is worth a mid-late first rounder and Port will be enticed in some manner by that to get back into the first round. I am unsure of whether his interest in returning home is just interest or personal circumstance which may soften port a touch. How much we value bringing youth in this year will be interesting. We have so many young players entrenched in the best 22. We have developing talls In Jeffo and Adams coming into their third year that we will suspect to start to push for selection. However other than that we lack quality youthful depth other than Kynan and Howes that you would be confident could push into a finals contending side in the future. Then there are those that worry about adding youth now before Tassie comes in. I can see both sides but my view is our time is still now we should have a strong swing and try and land him.
  3. I dont think it’s left field he has been mediocre most of the season. I hope they allow Laurie time to play as a half forward/ mid and hopefully he makes the most of the chance. Cant see either of May/Lever being in doubt without Tomlinson as cover but hey we did play without a ruck last week so…..
  4. Petty is a super important signing and can’t wait with another preseason and confidence in his body watching lots of people eat their words whatever end of the ground we play him at. I cant wait to see the footballer Windsor evolves into by 2028 and would not surprise if by then a re-rank of the 2023 draft shows him on top.
  5. Great news if true. Just needs a full preseason and a clear run and he solves problems for us 2025 and onward at either end. Now let’s go and fix our midfield and a second ruckman.
  6. I don’t think it was the young ones that were the worry in that game.
  7. The best ruck combo in the game and the best midfield trio in the game in my view. Against no recognised ruck, Viney trying his best, a fat unfit Oliver and River learning the mid trade without a mid engine. Surely nothing could go wrong. Yet we played a high defensive press and our forwards when we got the ball down there let them waltz it out on most occasions. Completely outcoached, outplayed, outworked. Lucky the damage was not worse.
  8. Our lack of defensive accountability at stoppage from our mids considering the ruck set up is disgusting. Our lack of work rate through the midfield is disgusting. The lack of leadership from senior players (May aside) is disgusting. Discipline and effort requires no talent.
  9. A quality team on their home deck but you see our players are believing again in the way to play and a clutch of brash youngsters are stepping up. In my view this games a free swing for us without Gawn/Trac and with expectation on the Dockers that a W puts them into third spot let’s see how they handle it.
  10. 6. McVee 5. Rivers 4. Langdon 3. May 2. Windsor 1. Pickett
  11. Neither will have the body strength for Draper or Darcy so this is about who might offer more of a differing advantage in other ways. Both move well, Verrall does not have a tank to get around a VFL ground at VFL pace yet clearly Fullarton for me. I suggest he is also a better mark to help just behind the ball. For those calling out Verrall forward he has not kicked a goal in his last 12 games (Fullarton 9 from his 10 games this year). I also doubt either of them if played will get much rest forward nor be pushing forward in play. It’s clearly Fullarton for mine to get the first go at it.
  12. Kids day at the G today. 6. Roo 5. Rivers 4. Windsor 3. Pickett 2. McVee 1. Kolt Special mention to TMac who would have got my 2 vote if 10 years younger.
  13. We should keep the 4 tall defence for the Eagles. If Petty’s ankle does not come up we should play Fullerton. Jefferson is progressing but he is not ready for a McGovern/Barrass combo. Salem should come in for Woey. I would like to see Bowey trialled on a wing and manage Windsor as sub.
  14. 6. Viney 5. Pickett 4. Oliver 3. McDonald 2. JVR 1. Petty (5 contested marks was huge regardless of the missed shots)
  15. We were always going to be cooked in the last. The Petty and Langdon misses costly. That though needs to be the standard in effort, application, approach and team first footy for the rest of the year.
  16. We really needed to take those chances to Langdon and Petty. They are coming and we just need to throw all we have left at em and take our opportunities to hang on. Come on Dees. You can do it.
  17. I could not care about the result. I just want to see us keep cracking in, getting the ball forward and everyone playing for each other. This is a tiring way to play for a young side and they are a good side and will come. Let’s keep it up. Go Dees.
  18. Effort and energy is good as are the attempts to move the ball. I just need some composure and a touch of luck (Rivers robbed). Hopefully we dont drop our bundle and go again.
  19. 6. May 5. Viney 4. Rivers 3. Gawn 2. ANB 1. Langdon
  20. I also want LDU but cant see it being til hes out of contract in 2025. Let’s assume LDU agrees to come end of this season what are you willing to give this year whilst he is still in contract that Nolrth will accept. Unless something crazy happens Nth will get a top of band pick for him if he leaves under FA. So to do it a year early it would need to be more than they expect to get the following year to be in their interests.
  21. Bedford has a good high pressure game but has a grand total of 7 goals for the year so one every second game. Chandler has kicked more. Not exactly the answer to our small forward woes. I feel like the cost for Stengle will be too high to land him and coin would be better saved/served for a 2025 midfield warchest (assuming we cant jag an LDU or Callaghan end of year in contract). If you are willing to pay up it would need to be because we have confidence Koz can more fully sustain a impactful midfield role to close the gap next year.
  22. Out: Petracca, Laurie, Billings, In: Kolt, Sestan, Woewodin
  23. Was JVR training? I cant spot him in the vids? I can see Howes and Laurie anyone else who did not play last week have a run?
  24. On face value you would think going to Pies makes sense for the opportunity. However I suggest we value the importance of ruckman more highly than the current Pies management and therefore would offer a more attractive package. I also think a 1-2 year transition learning from the GOAT would be enticing.
  25. Disagree. The kid is quality but is still only 22 and whilst he dominates VFL and has shown good signs at AFL level I suggest he would know he is not ready for a full season as a number 1 ruck.
