Featured Replies

Posted

We should have a competition to see who can guess (closest to) the number of hits Demonland will get on draft day.

1964 - A good year that one!

If Andy at Demonland can provide the answer the next day I will give a CD to the winner. No discussion will be entered into on the winner or the CD.

Sounds awesome!

Will it be the closest under or over

Both ways and if a tie I will have to come up with another CD.

Hmm.... I'll say 350, no... people will check early in the day to try and get immediate reactions/info, and then come back later (once they've voted) for a more through look.

555.

Are we talking hits here, or users online peak?

If we're talking hits, forget about any entry 1000. I'll tell you that much for free.

Well how about we end the competition at midnight before the day of the draft. Therefore it closes at 12 midnight on the 23rd of November.

Now you are confusing me. I originally meant hits and unless that is impractical, that is what it is.

Sorry Redleg, was just making sure it's clear. If you have a look at the bottom of the main forum index, you can get stats on who's currently online, including a count. That's what I was talking about, and that's the sort of number Distance Demon's guess represented.

Hits it is then, and yep, there are ways and means of getting a count. Like I said though guys, it won't be less than 1000, so guess above that.

Ok... so hits then? I'm gonna say 3086

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
