Carlton can get f%$!!

Well, let the hysteria begin! While I would love nothing more than to see Judd in a Melbourne jumper next year I just don't see it happening. The unfortunate reality is that Melbourne simply isn't all that attractive a club for prospective players... poor facilities, little money and a bad recent culture/history.

Posted

As much as I would love to se Judd at our beloved club. Im just curious to know can we afford this? Who knows he may go for more than $5 Million. As his manager says, it's not about the money and about coming home. Will he come back to his childhood team?

Posted

Judd confirmed earlier today he will be returning to Victoria next season.......

Get the Chq book out Gardiner its time to bring this superstar back to the team he suppoerted a s a kid....

Carlton are in the box seat and we are even among the other 3 nominated teams.

Carlton are looking at over 7 million for 5 years for Judd..... $5 million is change for Juddy

remember there is a salary cap, for each club it's just about fitting him in... carlton probably have an advantage here as kouta and his massive back ended contract have gone, but it won't be what wins over C. Judd anyway

Posted

And where does this 5 million figure come from. He's not after the money.

He's not coming back for the money, it's for family and not not the money.

He can make more from endorsements than playing.

That he can make a heap in endorsements, but when your talking millions one has to wonder. I can only hope he comes to us.

Yes, there is a salary cap for every club, and Carlton are very good at breaching them.

The word is that the Eagles will expect an early pick and a quality player in exchange for Judd. Well pick 4 and Robbo could well be the answer!? They would dearly love a quality forward to compliment Hansen and to a lesser extent, Lynch, so hopefully something like this can make all the difference!

Maybe we could throw Yze in as a little sweetner?! :)

Bailey already said that Yze will play on with the demons next year.

What would it take to get Judd.

Methinks that it would have to be pick 5 or less and an another young first round player good enough to be a frst round and preferably a West Australian. WCE would probably also like a player that they could market or sell to their supporters that they got something in return for Judd.

What do MFC have pick four and players like Davey, TJ, Sylvia, Dunn, Bates, Newton and McLean. Now WCE would only be keen on Davey because he is from Darwin and they have a good record with Aboriginal players and keeping them. The other 6 would need to be ontraded for a suitable pick or young player.

WCE would probably want a midfielder in return, but a proven small forward like Davey is something they are missing.

I really can't see what Carlton have to offer except pick 3 and Gibbs (which I doubt they would trade and from SA not WA). The press is talking about a WA KP kid they have (can't remember who) but he is unproven, and with KP players they can turn out to be anything, including very ordinary.

Richmond have pick 2 and Tambling, would think that this would be hard trade to beat.

There is suprising little good quality West Australians in the bottom clubs, so if trade week should be very interesting.

That still wouldn't cover the "cost". We'd need to throw in the pick, Robbo, someone like Davey or Sylvia and then a Dunn imo. WC wouldn't accept any less unless they get desperate.

What about pick 4, Robbo and maybe CJ. That would be even harder trade to beat

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
