GW, do you think Luker was referring to his form - meaning you won’t be seeing him for a few weeks in the 1’s?

I think he was referring to not playing at all. It’s the flattest I’ve ever seen him, even compared to when he came back from being gravely ill.

You're right DS - that was Stiffy at training.

He's a man mountain.

Would hope he's not 205cm, fully erect.

A few reasons:

  1. King has consistently said that early in the season we want to maximise our quick game - in short, our run. One more midfield rotation helps that. - the run was not impacted at all last weekend

  2. Max reads the game so well that I prefer him playing his 80-85% game time in the ruck and around the game - last week occasionally he was set at full forward whist Heath rucked (complete waste - no effect) - next week is not the issue, it’s Max having to back up 5 days into this game and Heath taking 20 - 25% will help immensely

  3. Last week, before Fort's late withdrawal due to illness, Brisbane had selected two quality rucks (Richmond do not have that) - again this is a huge weakness for them so why not exploit it with 2 genuine rucks. Can you imagine how bad we can beat the Tigers 2nd ruck.

  4. We have a nine day break into Sydney (no need to manage Max this week).

  5. If they are worried about JVR doing the second ruck, pick TMac, and let him do that job, but not my prefernce as it affects game style - see Point 1. - you are better off playing Laurie in the ruck, he can jump higher than T Mac. T Mac is done

Anyway that’s the beauty of football everyone sees things differently

Really? I'd be more than a bit concerned visiting a urologist who was stiff

I would be more concerned with a Stiff proctologist.

I must say I am amazed it took Uncle this long to chime in with a snide innuendo to my completely innocent question as to who the tall anonymous guy was at training this week. Why do I continue to strive to maintain the highest of ethical standards on here I ask you?

It's Game Day on Friday night. ANZAC Eve. The big stage at the ‘G. The Demons return to the spotlight for one of our most significant nights on the football calendar, taking on the Tigers in a clash that always carries extra weight given the gravity of occasion of the commemoration of the ANZAC Spirit. Under the lights, in front of a packed house, this is where moments are made. Can the Dees rise to the occasion and deliver on the big stage, or will Richmond spoil the night? All the build-up, discussion, and in-game reactions here. Go Dees.

  • NON-MFC: Round 7

Round 7 is here, with the ANZAC commemoration games taking centre stage. Who are you tipping this week, and which results would be most favourable for the Demons?

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

Before Sunday, the last time the Brisbane Lions had walked onto the turf of the Melbourne Cricket Ground, they celebrated the pinnacle of the sport - an AFL premiership secured in emphatic fashion for the second consecutive year.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

From the outset, the Casey Demons lacked any spring in their steps. They were out-hustled and out-bustled and finally outplayed by the Brisbane Lions by 38 points on their home turf in perfect conditions at Casey Fields.
