Buckley can't be that bad. Earlier this season he said on radio that he was a Melbourne supporter as a kid.

I'd prefer Longmire though. Or the next best assistant.

Agree.
Buckley was a kick away from being a GF winning coach.

I also think he would have learnt some thing while being the Collingwood coach.
There would be things he did that worked, things he did that he now realises didn't and would do differently if he went again.
Even people managing skills.
You learn those as you move through life.
Look at Chris Fagan, flag winning coach at how old.
Got the Lions playing good exciting footy.
And he was under our nose.

I'm not saying I want Buckley, I'm just saying that because he was unsuccessful once doesn't mean he won't be better next time.
I doubt he'd want to anyway.
Why put yourself through that when you can earn half a mill a year sitting on a couch twice a week talking BS.

I generally enjoy listening to the dee brief and appreciate the work they do to provide dees content to us for free.

Cados and Ryan have been excellent listens when they are on due to their insightful analysis and calm demeanour. Its actually more cathartic to me sometimes to here a glass half full analysis and cados and ryan both seem to lean that way which i like.

This episode was interesting and maybe not the most polished as it would go off the rails then be righted again and then go off down another tangental rabbit hole. There were some obvious inconsistencies in arguments offered throughout.

I thought the ranting and raving about supposed mistreatment of jonesy r.e. not playing him in the granny was a little odd given how forthright some especially adrian has been in essentially calling to trade one of clarry, tracc or vines at years end. Also I was under the impression Jonesy left to see the birth of his twins before the club decided about the 23 that would play so again a potentially misplaced criticism by the deebrief.

The hyperbolic "buckley will be our saviour" chat didn't resonate with me but everyone's entitled to their opinion.

If anything, that episode demonstrates that every Dees fan needs a win tomorrow to pep us up even if just momentarily.

I listen to both DeeBrief and Demonland for different reasons. I feel like Demonland does far more of a deep dive and in fact the DeeBrief boys do even admit "I haven't checked the stats, but..." so what I get from them is more about the passion and the vibe which does to be fair often reflect a lot of what other fans feel. I haven't listened to this honest deep dive, I might do that later, but if they are suggesting Buckley is our best replacement option that sums up our position with Goody. Change for change's sake isn't going to help the situation.

I think we're all just fed up and frustrated that we haven't gone on with a great foundation to have more success (even just finals wins!).

I mean no offence but they also do it because they make money off of it. Some of their content is even paywalled.

I’ve listened to them occasionally because I appreciate having more Dees content outside of the Demonland pod, but there is a lack of substance or meaningful analysis in many of the Deebrief’s conversations. They often just waffle on without providing any interesting or thoughtful insights.

I’m sure many folks just want that very basic Dees content and that’s totally fine—any Dees content from fellow supporters is better than none, but my preference is to feel like I’m learning something or being provided with info, ideas, or analysis that hadn’t occurred to me if I’m going to take the time to listen.

I enjoy their content and the passion. I certainly don't agree with everything said, but then again they often have conflicting opinions themselves which is as it should be. In a year when I have consumed less commercial content than at any other stage of my adult life, the Debrief boys and this site are my only staples other than the actual games.

I certainly appreciate the effort Adrian and the team put in to provide a range of content including a summary of every Casey game.

Pretty sure I don't. One former Demon with a solid CV in assistant coaching who I would hope is in the frame once Simon finishes is Cam Bruce. His time at Hawthorn and Brisbane as assistant includes multiple premierships which, while not his responsibility, shows he has seen how it's done. And he's had a different kind of experience at Carlton.

Bruce's CV vastly outweighs anything Jones is going to be able to present. Assuming he wants to step up to the main job, of course.
