Love this but hope it doesn't backfire like it did for the pies when they tried the same thing in about 2017 and we rolled them by 40 odd points. Ed, Straughnie and Tony Shaw looking very glum. It was gold.

The best commentary EVER! I listened to this for a couple of quarters at the Hawks match and it’s hilarious. They referred to Hawthorn as “the other mob” and barely mentioned any of their players’ names. They are beautifully biased. However, they still call the game adequately.

We lost to the Hawks but that didn’t change anything in terms of entertainment. The guys are so funny, even during a loss.

My biggest vice is listening/watching clips of Blues Radio when they lose. Especially the close ones.

The Hawks game was interesting. Yes its a biased call and you'd think it'd be easier to handle the loss. To the contrary, it was more infuriating, because they call all the non-decisions or BS decisions out. The moment Kozzy was tripped and it wasnt called.... i have never lost my marbles as bad as i have then in any other moment. Lucky i was away from the public.

please tell me you have a link to that?

Does this get recorded? Will be at the game but would love to give it a listen, especially if we get up.

Just FYI for posters that might have missed this post . . .

I listened to this yesterday with the tv volume off. Not perfect - but 1000% better than what 7 thrust upon us.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
