Great signs today, should be a good game next week.

Whatever you’re taking @Cosmic Baby it’s clearly not legal!

I miss the good people we had around our club. Gus, Nibbler, Hibberd, Jetta. Bedford, Jordon.

All had flaws but guys you could rely on to crack in.

Honestly the types Tim Lamb brought in....billings...schache...Grundy...mcadam....we moved away from guys that could win contests...to guys that just have no physicality. Or weak mentality. Or weak bodies. You couldn't have managed a list more poorly if you tried.

We were such a brutal team at the peak.

Sigh

The loss of Gus Brayshaw can never be understated. His on-field presence was enormous. Non-stop vocal encouragement and support, and crucially, he was very good at it. Bright guy and got his messages across eloquently and sharply. Would simply not have allowed as many hung heads during the game as we saw last Saturday. The club is sorely lacking in that kind of energy (dare I say, “vibe”) now, and it’s no coincidence that it noticeably plummeted, and has yet to recover, since the poor guy was taken off the ground.

Max, we know, has always possessed those same qualities but I can’t help but think he’s feeling lonely out there without Gus.

One thing that struck me late last night. Who would be the next in line as captain and vice captain?

Viney is average, Lever makes too many errors and is always injured. Trac is not a leader and too emotional. JVR wants to be a leader but is playing with oven mits on. We have no young onfield leaders coming through and our current ones are not leading and look finished.

If you believe that history repeats, then going by our current trajectory it will be Langford and Lindsay as “co-captains”.

I watched it at the Gee yesterday, what I saw were players willing to try, but too scared to make a mistake (thats what it seemed to me) like last week Rivers and Tmac played on but got caught because no one was giving advice or running with them,

I just think something smells fishy, Some players more interested in their profile in later life rather than now. As an instance Langford scored his first goal I think, How many of the team got around him, it should have been the whole blondy lot. Bit what I saw was only a few, If someone wants to dispute this fine I might be in error.

The major difference with the Demons of today and when we stole our flag is they do not seem to enjoy them selves out there. I must come from a long line of convicts because I see no problem in pinching a flag. Tomarto or Tomato we won winners are grinners. We were fantastic for about 3 years, but we were as bad as yesterday for 30 years or more.

Sorry to disagree, but I thought generally all the players were around him when he kicked the goal.

Your first comment about not running on to enable a handball was spot on. Is it game plan or just not fit enough to match GWS or GS.

With all the noise coming out the club its no surprise.... can someone stand up( Brad Green) at sort this sh$#t out. Even if it means pulling your mates in order!! For f#$k sake we can't be this unprofessional again.

Mate Greeny's a lovely fellow and was a great player. One of my favs and loved watching him play. But he aint listening and is all aboard.

Even offering to give hugs & cuddles to Simon & Richo if they're ever feeling a little bit overwhelmed at any point.

Maybe it's just me and my old school ways, but this kumbaya culture (epidemic) that appears to have permeated through the club is def not my thing.

At this rate the entire club will end up shutting up shop and having to take stress leave.

Maybe they could all head down to Rye for a few weeks of TLC and spas together and just forfeit our next few games.

Or send Whitford and the Casey boys in as replacements.... actually you know what

I was not sure how many got around him. From my end it only looked liked maybe 6. But then I looked away, no one from my end went down. Pleased to be in error.

I did think that “most”of the players were trying in the last. Some are just out of form badly and should go to Casey. But the suns had their confidence sky high and we were done. Probably before half time , 18 points for so long, depressing!

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #37 Kade Chandler

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
