Listed below are twelve cryptic clues, the answer to which are the names of Australian sportspeople who should be familiar to you.

Each clue relates to both names, with the exception of #1 which refers to surname only.

All clues have something in common, but that is not the point of the quiz.

Contrary to the listed rules, @Ghostwriter is being a bit of a greedy guts by submitting three more correct answers, but I'll give others a chance to have a go before giving her the glory she selfishly craves.

It will come as no surprise to learn that @Timothy Reddan-A'Blew has joined the party and (just like @Ghostwriter) tumbled to the two anagrams and unlocked the mystery of:

The last two cryptic individuals  play the same sport.  What is it?  Who are they?
