It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025.

🥰💞😍

Not missed a game since his debut in round 1, 2023.

Resilient, tough, classy.  Smoothest mover since TJ.

🙏🫰🙏🫰🙏 his contract is extended VERY soon!

Potentially the most intriguing playing on our list. He has all the tricks and will only get better with another pre-season.

I still remember watching his debut live at the 'G at the start of 2023 when he'd seemingly come from nowhere after he had a great pre-season. Straight away you could see that he was a smooth operator. How about the baulk on Libba at 1:17? 👇👇

This year, you could see that his teammates were looking to get the ball in his hands more often when we were exiting 50. He took some great scalps as a small defender as well.

He looked a little bit lost when we moved him into the midfield but I think the potential of him playing there is huge.

Hmm not sure he looked ‘at home’ in the midfield

May be the best half back who is a genuine defender in the competition tho - always gets the tougher jobs and is rarely beaten

Judd McVee has really shone in our back 6, I also hope we stick with Judd down back we were a bit desperate for mids this year that will change in ‘25 and why cut our opponents a break when we have one of the best and smartest half backs in the league.

Highly rate him as a small defender but wasn’t impressed with his midfield trial -  8 possessions as a midfielder against Collingwood.

48 straight games from his debut is pretty damn impressive.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
