@Dee-tonator‘s right on this one.

Had we won last night, this would be the equation for finals:

- we beat GC and Collingwood

- Carlton loses to WC and St Kilda

- Fremantle loses to GWS and Port

- Essendon loses to at least one of Sydney and Brisbane

Obviously no guarantees this all happens but Carlton are in free fall and have a stack of injuries which opens the door to them going 0-2, and Fremantle right now doesn’t look likely to beat GWS or Port either.

The only way this season gets any worse is if we find out after all is said and done that 13 wins would have been enough, and we end up on 12.

I’d buy a lottery ticket if you think any of that is happening

GC are 9-0 at home so we are no chance

And Carlton even playing horribly will win against WC

Freo will be strong favourites home  against Port

Gee wouldn't the afl be spewing that there will be no essendon, Collingwood & probably carlton or even us to fill the mcc not in the finals.

Apart from us, I'm for all the other teams missing

It would be like buying a lottery ticket to jail.

There is a difference when you look at who is injured.

Trac is a worse loss than some VFL player.

I don't want to labor the point re: injuries, but do want to call out some facts that people can overlook.

When we lost to Brisbane at the G; WC in Perth or Freo by almost 100 points we were pretty much playing with our full list inc Gawn, Petracca and Salem.

I also don't profess to completely understand the real reasons behind 2024 but am sure that injuries didnt have as a significant impact as many believe.

I still think one or two of them will get in. Freo have GWS away and Port at home and the Dogs have GWS in Ballarat. Carlton and Collingwood more likely than Essendon.

Every teams has an injury list.. we've actually had one of the betters injury list then majority of clubs this year.

Look at Brisbane's with their ACL's to both the key players in Kiddy Coleman (close to winning a Norm smith) and Linc McCarthy who's pretty much their ANB clone in terms of forward half pressure and importance structure wise.

They've also lost Darcy Gardiner who played in their grand final last year and would have been a solid depth defender for them.

They've had their 2nd best key defender in Jack Payne who's missed 8 games this season and have had to move Hipwood down to defence.

They've had Will Ashcroft who's one of their gun midfield talent missed half a year with an ACL injury.

They too have played young kids and also brought in soldiers when needed.

What's their excuse?

Our depth has been really tested this season and unfortunately it hasn’t been good enough

That is precisely the reason I hope we don’t gift away our draft capital in the hope of a quick fix

Anyone who watches Casey regularly knows what I’m talking about

I agree Brisbane have had their share of injuries but I suspect they do t have the same number of key players playing injured or with poor preps - just my opinion

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
