MEMBERSHIP TALLY

Featured Replies

I'd be interested to know if the numbers follow the same criteria for each club.  Are 3 game memberships included, pet memberships, etc.?

The numbers for 11 game + memberships would be interesting to see but not sure if available.

+note to George - Tigers also declined in numbers

Thanks...missed that one, but we still won the "lost members" premiership by a long margin.....

...and all manner of membership types are counted. e.g I count for 3 memberships with AFLW, MCC and Tridents but there is still only 1 me.

Truth is we only have about 40K real live bodies who are eligible to vote

Spin, no doubt, but also a glimmer of a bigger future. Play to keep them in '25, boys (and you Season 9 girls!)

I am not surprised, 2024 has been nightmarish with a media pile on the likes of which only the Bombers have previously suffered. Our lack of a Marketing/ Media guru has been telling, when we should have gone on the front foot to defend our club we stood idle and just took it, maybe the fact that we were being attacked internally (legally) as well as externally by a number of lesser lights in the press would have really hurt us and this wasn’t helped by a couple of our players antics in ‘23-24 and then a couple of very poor losses and the Petracca debacle really hurt us on and off the field.

let’s hope that out of these Reviews they identify the need to build a very strong marketing/ media savvy team to defend and strengthen our mighty club.

I'm sorry but I think what I read here is that we can be saved by spin. The reality is we have a poor Board (appalling decision-making), and  a poor CEO,  and nobody can spin us out of that. We, the members need to change our governance. It can be done. The reviews were going to be "internal", and run by the CEO, right up until the fateful interview by our former President. It was the members that turned it "external", not the spin doctors. Long live the members. You have the power! Because these reviews are not external, they are not independent - clearly just the CEO trying to save his job. Look up (the Board), look down (the Football Department), but don't look in the mirror.

@george_on_the_outer

I contacted the club re the current tally and they have updated the website.

Current numbers are image.png.2a8c3641df86b140cb9c6dba7c1ebdc0.png so maybe it is time add 2025 to this thread.

We seem to be tracking at 2022 (year after the premiership) level.  That isn't too bad given where we ended up in 2024.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

The Dees ran another clinic for the second week in a row as they easily accounted for the Tigers in the lightning interrupted shortened match at Mars Stadium in Ballarat.

  • VOTES: Richmond

Kozzy Pickett was the man of the match last week and has a vote lead over backup ruck Max Heath who didn't play this week and 5 votes over former Saint Jack Steele. Who gets the votes in this weeks shortened match win over the Tigers? Your votes please. 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1.

  • GAMEDAY: Richmond

It's Game Day and the 2026 AFL Premiership season is almost upon us as the Demons take to the field for their final practice match before the first ball is kicked in anger in 16 days time. What are you expecting to see from the Dees today as they take on the Tigers at Mars Stadium in Ballarat?
