The clubโ€™s Next Generation Academy selection from the NT Thunder has great agility and some excellent skill sets. Showed steady improvement after playing in the Casey Demonsโ€™ VFL premiership team last year and signed a new contract in August. Retains his place on the rookie list for next season.

I like the look of Andy and I hope that he has a breakout year for us at Casey and also gets an opportunity to shine for us in 2024. AMW looks like a keeper.

I'm a fan, I reckon he might take Chandler's spot.

Question the provided AMW body mass of 71kg after two years in the senior gym? Heโ€™s got the body right looking fit now. An intriguing prospect has shown flashes of X factor, so the talent is there. A wiser man would say work on the consistency of your performance and opportunity comes your way.ย

At that listed height and weight where would you play him?

Has to be a flanker or on the wing, is that his real weight very light for A 5โ€™11โ€ player.

If the Younger Brown weighs in at 71kg. Andy Moniz-Wakefield is at least a couple of divisions north nearer 80kg. Looks capable of forward pocket with some on ball rotations IMHO.

The team's instagram put up a photo of Koz, AMW and McAdam all together recently. It feels just right to have all 3 boys tear it up in forward line next year.ย

MrFreeze - that is a great positive story, but actually seasons and matches are not won on Instagram. ย Can all three fit into the same forward line??

Again I wonder where are his opportunities come from. I assume Pickett, Neal-Bullen, Fritsch and two talls are locks in the forward line. That leaves him fighting against McAdam, Melksham (when fit), Tholstrup, Billings, Chandler, Spargo and others for 1 - 2 spots. Tough gig, especially with a body that doesn't look ready for AFL level yet.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

Iโ€™ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we wonโ€™t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything youโ€™d like to ask or say below and weโ€™ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics youโ€™d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourneโ€™s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time atย Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
