Didn’t know you worked in our FD. Coz you do, right? I mean, why else would you be so sure?

If a football department of any side started to take notice of supporters whims and fancies and at times hysterical comments regarding the list , team changes , recruiting etc, then they don't deserve to hold those positions.

The club may very well read supporter sites just to gauge the reaction of supporters but I am certain they would not be passing comment to the football department.

Maybe I was asking too much. I’ll take Zane Duursma and Larkey from North

Now we're talking👌

Just a note on Nick Larkey he was taken at pick 73, I repeat pick 73 in 2016. Go back and look at our 2016 trades, Lewis, Hibbo, Hannah at 46 Pat McKenna Later on then Dion Johnstone at 64 all before Larkey at pick 73.  There is a lot of luck involved and hindsight is a beautiful thing. Larkey is also on record as saying he will stay a Rood for life not interested in free agency etc

Precisely.  A lot of skill and research but also a fair bit of luck especially in the higher picks.

Wasn't James Hird in the 80s and Chris Grant >100?

These sort of “how did they land there” picks are becoming rarer due to better scouting (Oliver a very clear example of this). So unlikely that there will be these sorts of generational talents multiple times per drafts like they used to. Expect Seaston. Obviously he is generational 😜

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
