Bloody Trac is why Clarry won’t win a Brownlow by the way. And why Trac won’t win one either.  Rude 😂

If clarry can win the coaches' award he can win the brownlow.

I know Danger bashing is a thing... but he was incredible on Sunday. He is in red hot form at the moment.

Coaches votes are a lot more accurate about a players game than the Brownlow.

i think that's partly to do with 5 players getting votes rather than 3, and also 2 separate sets of votes rather than just 1 set

I reckon Clarko gave Oliver 4. He basically killed the game in the first quarter. Made sure it was done and dusted.
Great to see Kade recognized too!

Not sure it was Oliver that killed the game.  It was a real team result for all four quarters.  He had a lot of possessions but how effective were they?  I don't have the quarter by quarter figures but overall he wasn't in the top 4 for any of: tackles, i50's, goal assists, meters gained.

His 7 votes are very well deserved but it annoys me when people just look at his possession count to assess his (or anyone's) contribution to a result.

And it annoys me when someone takes a cheap 'drive by' shot at one of our players:  Bloody Trac is why Clarry won’t win a Brownlow by the way.

Like @DemonlandI'll take premierships and NSM over Brownlow every day of the week.

I rewatched the replay yesterday and Clarry was destroying them. Not only was he everywhere, but he got his hands on the footy consistently which created the ball movement that got us those early goals. He was at the start of multiple chains that resulted in goals.
He was the most influential player on the ground in that first quarter.

As for my last comment, that was clearly tongue in cheek. I think anyone who wonder why Clarry hasn't won a Brownlow yet needs to understand that he has a lot of competition within his own team for votes. Both he and Trac are incredibly consistent and extremely good players, who will continue to take votes of one another.

Of course I rather those two win flags than win Brownlows!

I agree. But surely track pinches votes off clarry in the coaches award just as much as the brownlow.

I see no reason why they can't both clock more than a vote per game and then finish joint winners!

Imagine the final round on Brownlow night. Oliver is ahead by two votes and had a good game, but Petracca just blew the Swans apart in one of his habitual monster events.

Sydney versus Melbourne

Melbourne, C Petracca, 3 votes.

Melbourne, C... (crowd murmurs) ... Salem, 2 votes.

Melbourne, C Oliver, 1 vote.

Maybe it is the other way round...

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

The Dees ran another clinic for the second week in a row as they easily accounted for the Tigers in the lightning interrupted shortened match at Mars Stadium in Ballarat.

Kozzy Pickett was the man of the match last week and has a vote lead over backup ruck Max Heath who didn't play this week and 5 votes over former Saint Jack Steele. Who gets the votes in this weeks shortened match win over the Tigers? Your votes please. 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1.

It's Game Day and the 2026 AFL Premiership season is almost upon us as the Demons take to the field for their final practice match before the first ball is kicked in anger in 16 days time. What are you expecting to see from the Dees today as they take on the Tigers at Mars Stadium in Ballarat?
