How did May look out there? Bit worried about him, noticing his output is a little down this year, doesn't seem the May of old.

May looked good, hitting his kicks with precision, vocal and moving reasonably well.

Thanks Kev, game day will tell.

I wonder if this part was to reiterate the strategy for how they will setup for D50 ground balls? Clarkson may well look to utilise low, scrubby kicks to generate the success the Tigers had on Monday.

Approx 2 to 3 weeks away HR

Whenever I read about players training away from the main group, I get the feeling that there’s a mystery injury of the week brewing. When the player in question has been named in a position with which he’s not usually familiar, the feeling grows in intensity. Bayley Fritsch at CHB? No way. The stage is being set for someone like Daniel Turner to slip into defence and hopefully return to the form he was showing in the first half of last year’s QB block buster (with no injuries this time please).

My MFCSS has been eased slightly by the fact that North have beaten us to the mystery injury of the week when they withdrew Luke Davies-Uniacke who has a heel problem.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

It was only a preseason match but the new look Demons spearheaded by new coach Steven King looked impressive as they put on a clinic against perennial cellar-dwellers North Melbourne as they cruised to an 80 point victory at Casey Fields.
