I've seen a guy on the boundary with a zoom lens at most of the training sessions I've been to. I don't think he's with the Dees as there is a young lady who walks about the field with a big camera and a zoom lens and I think at times a monopod for stability.

I assume he is either with the media or a fan or photography enthusiast. If not with the club I haven't seen the photos reproduced anywhere.

getty i would assume

JJ ahead of Harmes is a poor decision. Harmes seems to be out of favour with the coaches, as evidenced in the off season. James Jordon needs to develop his game and be more creative with his play. I thought his inclusion in the side last year actually hindered us. Very slow mover of the ball. Does not hurt the opposition at all.

In my thoughts Harmes had just an average year in 2022, I also believe JJ is ahead of him right now.

fair few here

admittedly not since december

As you mentioned they were from December. I have been to 3 or 4 sessions since and there has been the same guy with a massive lens and I don't believe he is associated with the club and I haven't seen the photos show up on any of the sports photo service websites.

Therefore I believe he is either a fan and the photos are for his private collection or a sports photography enthusiast or both.

I was reading through the Richmond preseason thread on Big Footy (mainly because I wanted an injury update as apparently they've had 11 players in the rehab group for a big part of the preseason). I shouldn't have been surprised to discover that at least half the posts were dedicated to conspiracies about how hard done they are by the umpires and how having a 4th umpire will only make things worse for them 🤣

ANYWAY what pleased me most was seeing how annoyed a few of them were that they'd passed on JVR for another half bank flanker prospect (can't remember who) - as one of them said "JVR is a beast with tree trunks for legs" - so I now have an added motivation to see JVR rip things up this year, to see the tears of Richmond sooks

Tom Brown.

On the topic of photos, the replacement for Gibby is an English boy named Alex.  Apparently he's been in Melbourne for 5 years and became a mad Demons fan!  If you've been to training at Gosch's, he's got long locks to rival BBB and Langdon (pre egg mode).  He's doing photos and social media support

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
