We also received a future 2nd round pick from Freo (for Jackson) which we later traded to move our own first round pick up in the draft to secure Tholstrup

So it's Jefferson, Windsor & a needed 2nd round pick to secure Tholstrup

All three lads have got some work to do if we’re to be victorious in this trade.

From the Gather round onwards, Jackson was outstanding and exciting for Freo and was the forward-ruck we were screaming out for in the Carlton final. He’s proven to me that he’ll probably be a regular top 10 commodity in the AFL after being critical of him in 2022 and suggesting that his 2021 GF was a bit overblown.

Makes it all the more frustrating that he phoned in the 2022 finals series when we needed him the most.

Two of Windsor, Jefferson and Mr Sunglasses would have to be regular top 50 players to win this trade I reckon.

jackson was outstanding once darcy was injured and out of his way

Only time will tell but I have a good feeling about all three of Jefferson, Windsor and Tholstrup even though none of them can replace LJ they can eventually fill three spots on the list so the search will continue for his replacement.!!

When we pick up Darcy as a free agent at the end of this year, after he chooses to leave because they brought Jackson in, the scales will be firmly tilted in our favour.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
