Depth Test

Apart from Salem and Lever the replacements are like for like. Not to worry as long as May is there to direct traffic.

Journalists love talking about TMac going back.  But the reality is he has only done that under Goody when we've had injuries in game to defenders.  I think against North last year it was similar when Tomlinson got injured.

Would be very surprised if TMac started there this week.

May is a star but so are Salem and Lever.

You can’t replace your best players. I expect to beat GC and Essendon (on exposed, very exposed form) but the best will exploit us.

Salem and Lever make up a quarter of our galaxy of stars - important and irreplaceable. May, Gawn, Fritsch, Petracca, Oliver, and Langdon are the other 6 IMO.

We're fortunate that Ben King isn't playing for GC. No reason for Tmac to play down back. Assuming Lever, Hibberd and Rivers are unavailable, the matchups could be as follows:

Casboult - Tomlinson

Lukosius - Smith

Chol - May

Rankine - Hunt

Wouldn't be surprised if Dunstan comes in for Salem and Harmes spends some time down back.

Bring it on. Our depth won't be "tested". It will be utilised. We have developed a list for this very circumstance. No need to rush anyone back. Let them wait until cherry ripe. When players like Tommo, Hunt, Smith and so on are "depth" then we're in a good place.
