Bizarre that reasonable posts about potential health problems were deleted but this appalling stuff is left up.

Not as funny as you MCW.

You obviously don't understand  the reference from DD about " taking stuff " is as I indicated an inaccurate assertion on Shane's social habits.

It has been reinforced universally by Shane ( and friends) that He did not do drugs so To completely clear the air DD should write a retraction of his assertion about "taking stuff ". That's all I asked.

If you find that funny I am dumbfounded.

Yeah nah, you’re right: it’s not funny…

It’ hilarious.
The fact that you expect a retraction. A RETRACTION! Who tf does that??!! The  astronomical number of times someone on here has commented on a famous person’s “social habits” and said waaaaay worse things and, more pertinently, way more inaccurate things, and you take exception with this comment???? SMH

Oh, and please stop calling me MCW!!! They’re not my initials!

But is it “appalling” though, LN?
I see it as someone taking a molehill and turning it into Mt. Everest. Dub didn’t make a statement that warrants  an apology, let alone a retraction. Besides, he then went on to concede that he doesn’t know for sure and therefore would bow out of the convo. Especially irksome is that the ‘mountain-maker’ is someone who routinely makes abrasive comments without even a nanosecond of hesitation.

Making accusations of drug taking about someone who has just passed away and then backing it up with 'oh but I don't know if it's even true' IS appalling in my books.

Other factual posts about health issues were deleted in regards to hypothesizing about Warne's untimely demise, yet this kind of gutter rumour mongering is allowed to stay up. That's very poor.

Clearly we’re not on the same page. Ie, we’re barking up two separate trees. I get your point and I respect it. You’ve explained it well.
My point is that what constitutes ‘poor form’ in this instance is when someone takes someone else to task over what may be construed as an (indirect) accusation of drug-taking, resulting in the OP admitting to not knowing for sure and therefore will bow out, only to have the ‘pot-stirrer’ mount the highest horse poss and request a retraction. Seriously?! Give me a break.
Anyways, being that we’re all merely human, it figures that at times we won’t see eye to eye on a particular issue. All good. Now ima do a DubDee and bow out gracefully 🙂

WCW out 👋

If you don't know for sure, you shouldn't even bring it up (not that it would be appropriate either way mind you).

I wholeheartedly agree! So now let’s demand a retraction from each and every poster who does exactly this. May take a while since it happens all too often. But will be worth it to appease the holier-than-thou brigade.  A retraction. That’s next level lols right there.

I do not sink as low as make a post or potentially make mischief about a deceased person when they have publicly stated the opposite, then admit I don't know any facts to back up my comment.

And amazingly Making Civil War admits it is wrong but defends the making of an apology as to good to be true  as many before make incorrect or statements lacking in fact  or evidence  but  don't express their regret when called out.

This is a case of the person caught typecasting by their own opinion and missing the target by miles and not being decent enough to really admit that it was an inappropriate posting under all considerations and  in view of the public interest and feelings in this matter.

Lets get back to the real situation. A very sad one .

In the space of a few weeks  world sport has suffered the loss of three outstanding sportsmen. John Landy, champion runner and person, the epitome of sportsmanship, Rodney Marsh, wicketkeeper/ batsman of the highest order, and Shane Warne greatest spin bowler of all time. Rest in peace my sporting heroes. You gave us much pleasure in your pursuits.

Thanks for that info Satan. Overlooked Dean's untimely passing.  Another champion gone.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
