Hey Tim, while this is right up my alley, I’m not doing as well as you clearly are post-booster shot. I just wish I had the number plate of the truck that slammed into me. 😭

@mo64, et al, perhaps a better(?) clue for 19 might have been 'Catchcry for wicketkeeper Maddocks'!?

Besides, it looks so hard! I reckon I’d struggle even if in perfect health. I doff my hat (my Demons Premiers cap, that is) to the guys who are currently killing it. Three of the best, right there.Ā

Jeremy Howe? How is he?

I've missed the Spoonerism.

Nice 'straight cryptic' try, mo, but 'fraid not again.

He played with another of the same surname, but they weren't brothers.

Loving your thinking and creativity, @mo64, but no chocolates with 6 and 10. However, I am calling a tie for you on Glenn L, between you and @Demonstone

10 Wayne Gordon

13 Rod Owen?

14 Peter Moore?

6 Sam Blease?

(going from most certain to most tenuous)

and I'm sure Bayley Fritsch must get a gig but I can't quite see where ...

Big ticks for 6, 10 and 14, Mazer. Streeting the field!

However, you get the ' 'fraid not ' this time, for 13; and as you see, previous recipient @mo64Ā has nailed that one. Creative though - Odd rowan!

And, yes, The Magnet is selected...

So, I think were down to:
2. 'Heel, [censored]!'

4. 'Hay, gathered by May'

9. 'Banjo-strummy strumpet?'

11. 'Lament blemish'

Remember, the [censored] was a homophoneĀ of 'Prymke without me'

It's a fair cop. I done it.

OK, my brain has recovered, and I'm going again.

2. Brad Campbell. Heel (Cad) P#@*k (Bramble)

Well done brain again! Got 'em both!

And now, I think, only a dodgy synonym and an uncertain homophone - in anĀ  'Immortal' and a 'Who?...' respectively - need centre clearance and final shots at goal!

(No clues in that last bit. Just wanted to keep the footy going😁)

4. 1978 3-gamer MICK REA - 'Hay, gathered' = 'rick' / 'May' > Mea (as in O'Dea, I hope!)Ā

9. New Immortal BAYLEY FRITSCH (you wereĀ thereĀ @Mazer Rackham!) - 'Banjo-strummy' = 'fraily' / 'strumpet' is the dodgy synonym for female canine...)

Thanks for playing,Ā @Mazer RackhamĀ Gold, @mo64Ā Silver, and @DemonstoneĀ Bronze. Hope you're better, @WalkingCivilWar, and thanks for watching, @Fanatique Demon

Contemplating a cricket one. Tell me I shouldn't!...

Love your work Tim. Would never have got the 2 above.

Bring on the cricket version!!!!

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, MelbourneĀ captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles atĀ Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.Ā  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, aĀ career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested),Ā nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.Ā

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?
