I had a dream

Last Thursday, I dreamt that I was sitting at the front row on the ground level of the Great Southern Stand & watched in sadness as our team walked off the ground with their hands on their hips & heads down. They had just lost their first game of the season. It was heartbreaking however, when I realised that the team celebrating on the other side of the ground was Richmond!!!

I woke up & thought, what a crap dream & not a good omen. Unfortunately, the result of the dream came true that Friday night against St Kilda instead.

Last night I had another dream. This time it was a night game at a very packed MCG. The teams were Melbourne & Hawthorn. It was the last quarter & we were 2 points in front with the only seconds left on the clock. The ball was in our centre half forward position, very close to the 50-metre line. Byron Picket running at full speed scooped up the ball & bombed a torpedo post high through the goals.

The crowd erupted in an almighty loud roar that made me feel proud & then the siren sounded - Melbourne had won by 8 points.

I would have liked a 70 points thumping, but at this stage, I would take any win.

GO demons.

u have weird dreams, i usually just dream about naked women!!

If dreams counted for something we would have a flag by now. No amount of dreaming, praying or voodoo will help us sadly.

I take the voodoo statement back, i am 100% sure someone has a working aaron hamill voodoo doll!!

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons return to the MCG wounded, undermanned and desperate. Still searching for their first win of the season, Melbourne faces a daunting task against the Fremantle Dockers. With key pillars missing at both ends of the ground, the Dees must find a way to rise above the adversity and ignite their season before it slips way beyond reach. Will today be the spark that turns it all around, or are we staring down the barrel of a 0–6 start?
