Watts was more than 'just a good kick'. Go and watch some of the highlights, especially under Roos.

I actually agree with you to a certain extent. He's a super smart player and actually wins more contests than he's given credit for.

He was certainly not consistent in his willingness to defend though. That said, I don't want to overstate this because I think the criticism of him over the years has been nothing short of ridiculous.

I met his Dad at a port game at the G a couple of years ago. He was sitting behind me the whole game. Lovely bloke as was his family that were with him. Before leaving I said to his Dad, that I would never wish any harm on Jack, he's copped way more than he ever should have in terms of criticism and was badly managed earlier on and that I hope he does well. And I meant every word of it.

I hope he gets on the park again

The fairy tale goes like this;  Jack gets recalled to the seniors during Ports finals campaign because of injuries to key forwards. Jack plays in GF and kicks 5 goals including the winning goal after the final siren 55 metres out on the boundary line............against us!

I don't think jack has ever kicked 5 in a home and away match. 4 is his highest. He did kick 6 in a preseason game for port once.

Speaking of duds we have drafted with pick 1,  Tom Sc@#ly is averaging a pathetic 12 possessions a game this season for Hawthorn.

Tom can't run 20 km in a game anymore, that was his 1 wood, endurance is all that he ever had, without that he's an amateur.

I think he is in a nutshell the paradigm for the decline of Hawthorn. Instead of investing in kids, they paid for perceived talent. Many of them have been has-beens for a while now, Scullduggery the leading example.

Are you sure you spelled that correctly? I thought it was a b, not a d.

The Hawks outsmarted themselves, thought they were getting a steal for Scully, turns out pick 60 odd was overs for tom

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
