And their biggest crowd will be 10k unless a big Melbourne team is playing during school holidays.

Total waste of money and talent

Don't agree with this.  Unlike GWS, there is a genuine following and high standard grass roots competition for Aussie Rules on the Gold Coast.  As much as the bleed of tallent has hurt us in particular, I think that GC are the surer money bet for sustainable growth of the game into Northern market's.

If the are sucessful, they will regularly pack out Carrara, which is a great stadium to attend and watch footy from.  Hoping to watch us beat Freo there in a few weeks.

This place is good for a laugh sometimes. Not quite sure what "malicious" factors the OP is alluding to, but there's 3 possible scenarios:

1) Gold Coast have hit some good form due to astute recruiting, a young talented list starting to gel, good coaching and the significant advantage of playing all their games on their home turf;

2) They've spent the last decade tanking;

3) Secret AFL Illuminati agenda.

I'm not going to rule out option 1 just yet.

They've got the best young list in the league and have now added more mature bodies around the kids. They've managed to hold onto the kids and start building. They've implemented a fast running gameplan. They win enough ball in tight and spread better than most from the congestion. They might slow up like they have in previous years, but you can clearly see their gamestyle and young talent maturing.

I'm happy to see them coming good. Their creation was rubbish, but that aside it would've been bloody hard to build a team up their without much support. It's always good to see struggling teams come good and knock off the Hawthorns and Geelongs. Hope they go a fair way this year.

And yes, Rowell is a genuine star. Wish any of our plethora of high draft picks were as good as him! Would give my left nut to get Ben King into our forward line too!

what was the Bears average crowd?

How have Brisbane fared post their premierships.

What is the average crowd for the Titans?

It's a sporting desert and always will be

A bit of thread creep, but I couldn't believe so many of those marks were allowed against us.  The kick practically went to a player 5m away from the man on the mark.  Fffing ridiculous.

And the 1 they called play on was when Hawkins had May on his wrong leg and May actually pulled up expecting it to be paid. Hawkins spun around beating him easily.

    Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

    BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

    Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
