It's obvious that big decisions will need to be made at AFL and club level to save each club. Every dollar is going to count. What are Demonland's ideas for either raising revenue or reducing costs?

My suggestion, to get the ball rolling, is to suggest that the club hold on to the 2020 Membership Scarves and use them in 2021. I have no idea how many scarves the club gets and how much they cost, but if they get, say, 50,000 and they cost the club $1 each, that's a saving of $50,000. I'd rather that money be used elsewhere.

Discount the over-priced merchandise in an effort to provide some sort of cash flow at that level. I can imagine the Demonshop is doing much trade right now.

I paid $40 for a [censored] cap.

That's right. a cap.

This is an excellent idea as long as people don't mind the reminder of 2020 embroidered into their 2021 scarf.

2020 branded merch will become collectors items, albeit of little financial value

Possibly get players to do "Cameo" like messages for fans/kids.

Cameo is a service whether B to Z list celebrities are paid to send through a video message to fans.

Easy way for the club to raise some money. They could be doing this now whilst the players have nothing better to do whilst in lockdown.

Tommy Mac ($20) and Jay Lockhart ($20) are already on the cameo website, so is old mate Russell Robertson ($40).

This would bypass the club but the club but club have options like reduced merchandise and even raffles for signed stuff etc - better than an auction.

Cost saver: MFC players make a stand and take a pay cut of up to 80% (sliding scale) until October. Those earning the most cut the most.

The benefit to players could be possible contract extensions, backending a limited % of contract, or increased PR/media opportunities next season, etc

A donation scheme based on success with players donating a percentage of their salary inverse to the on field success. (18th and the players keep 20% moving up to you keep 100% if we win the flag.)

Hell if we had that in place over the last fifty years we'd be the richest club going around ! ?
