Same 5 as I would have had on the mfc site.

Maybe add Brayshaw who I'm predicting to quietly get back on the upward trajectory to be one of the best mids in the comp.

The other one being Weid. Last year the pressure was off a bit being thrown into the fire as the second key forward, then injuries finished his season. This year he needs to really put the foot down and try to find consistency with Jackson and Brown there for his spot. I think with Bayley being our second marking option now it might give Weid more freedom to play as a true CHF getting touches further up the ground to bring him into games more.

I agree on the 5 they have suggested, but I'm also interested to see how Sparrow (thanks YB) performs this season.  He's looking a very likely type.

Haha... thanks! Yes, I did mean Sparrow (I failed the Biddle's Bird Watchers entry exam... now I know why).  Fixed.

Haha easy mistake.

Rivers is another one who will be interesting to watch develop, could be called upon if we find ourselves with injuries down back.

I Really like the look of Rivers  should be a big part of the future

1. Coronavirus: the boom recruit to this season's list. Already has the attention of seasoned track watchers and is expected to wreak havoc on the park.

2. Flu: flashy performer, flits in and out. Always chimes in mid-winter with some big performances but lacks season-long consistency.

3. The Common Cold: an old stalwart, can always be relied on to make solid contributions in spite of being unfashionable and unloved.

4. Acne: not considered best 22 but always there and thereabouts. Depth only.

5. Diphtheria: potent when in the mix and certainly capable, but not expected to make much of an appearance in 2020.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
