Lovely photos guys keep them up.

Unfortunately that’s the last you’ll get from Liam, as we hit the road back to Sydney early on Wednesday morning.

Thanks guys, great photos.  Correct me if I'm wrong but those players appear to be enjoying themselves....is this permissible?

I don’t know how serious it was (if at all), but at one stage it got a bit willing between Salem and Jetta with them slinging each other around by their jumpers; Jetta’s yellow vest eventually being ripped off. Immediately after they stayed well clear of each other.

Get him to sneak down to Swans or Giants and take some action shots. With his quality the local press might pick em up, as well as providing us Dlanders with some comparative physique development examples.

Also on the trip back some chance to hone skills on some fairly modified environment.

A friend who is a local professional photographer has entertained me with some of the best photos of local footy. One shot the best I have ever seen, seven players in the contest (no photoshopping) with really sharp detail, all in focus etc, spectacular.

He also shows many shots of birds in flight which are just as difficult to capture as sports shots he says.

He has some magnificent shots of the high country devastated after fires. The contrast between the burnt out blackened trees against a scorched earth are really fantastic.

He has always said it's a matter of being in the right place at the right time. It's not luck, it's research and always having his camera with him  and being alert to the surroundings and the circumstances.

Thanks mate. We’re both into photography and for the most part do just as you’re suggesting. On this visit to Melbourne we drove down the Princes Highway via my brothers’ places and sister’s place in the Bermagui area (they were all evacuated at one point), passing through the burnt out villages of Mogo, Cobargo and Quaamar and from there to Melbourne we had to divert along the Snowy Mountains and Monaro Highways due to East Gippsland being closed off. The devastation in the Snowys National Park was truly horrific but made for some amazing photo studies. In all my years, I’ve never seen anything like it. We didn’t photograph much of the damage to people’s houses/personal property, as that felt uncomfortably voyeuristic.

Thanks for your advice though... I will pass it on and thoroughly support your suggestions.

Here’s a couple of my shots from the Snowys...

I think Liam’s got a great eye for photography and am incredibly proud of what he’s already producing. I really did mean it when I said thanks for your advice and suggestions. Words of encouragement from yourself and others, are doing wonders for his self confidence; thanks so much.

Happy to help .

Let me know if your ever coming down Beechworth way. Plenty of available subject matter.

A friend has an Airbnb property Lockwood cottage, which is very reasonably priced family accomodation.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. Firstly the bad news - McVee went down late, which does look like a bad hammy - towards the end of match sim, as he kicked the ball. Had to

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
