As I said in a post earlier. This has to be the mindset of all 44 players that wear the MFC Guernsey for 2020.

I get 4 weeks annual leave a year. So should these boys. October is the preseason for the preseason.

I get 9 weeks a year and in that time drink as many cans as is humanly possible...but I understand what you are getting at..

After attending Friday nights game and then hearing interviews by Melksham, Lever and Goodwin on Saturday I am not sure 4 weeks off for this playing group will be enough to reset their shell shocked mindsets! This group seems to be in a dark place, bewildered at why they are losing, with zero confidence in each other to execute the basics. Goodwin pointed to the fact that they had been tinkering with the game plan to the point that their method of play is unidentifiable and the players are obviously confused. They are not enjoying playing the opposition or with each other, expecting failure no matter who they play.

It seems to me the squad was physically banged up at the end of 2018 and took much of the season to recover, if they ever have; now at the end of season 2019 we have a squad mentally traumatised!

How long will it take to rebuild their confidence and get them enjoying their football again?

Good insights, thanks

Re last sentence.  Maybe Goodwin should say: go out and play on instinct and enjoy themselves - bit like stand-in coaches do in their first game at the helm.

Loosen the shackles on structures, rules and have fun - nothing to lose.

Could hardly make them worse LH.  However it won't change things at Bluntstone. Roos by 8.

Yeah. His no.1 aim should be to get the attitude & motivation of his players into a positive state. This can be achieved by focusing on certain facts like "hey you get to play professional football for a living - [censored] enjoy it!" & "there's a reason you got to this level, use your strengths & remind us all why again!".

When did MFC become the underdog and an irrelevant club?

Was it when Norm Smith was sacked and Ron Barassi went to Carlton?

When did we lose the right to train on the MCG?

When did we lose the home ground?

Why did we lose the home ground? How did the MCG, HOME OF the GREAT DEMONS become home of scum like Richmond, Collingwood, etc etc.

We were the kings of the 1950s-1964.

What has happened to this great football club that invented the game?

When can we get it all back?

Respect.

Winning.

Self respect.

Forget the rest.

This year has been an absolute disgrace and the coaches and players should hang their heads in shame.

Absolute shame shame shame.

Get back to winning or get lost.
