So much for Dorodo's big man talk that Essendon would 'hit the trade period hard'.  He likes to win the battles but ends up losing the war.  They gained Tom Cutler and Andrew Phillips and their first draft pick is #31.

Carlton have also come away empty handed (well they have favourite son Eddie back).

Big trade fail for both clubs.

Hard to see either team improving much next year.

Just where we like them?

Sun's could easily just delist Martin and Carlton take him as a delisted free agent.

I can't see what's stopping Gold Coast and Carlton doing a trade of picks at any stage between now and the draft and then Gold Coast delisting Martin once that occurs.

They can pretty much just extend the deadline until the draft. Clever.

wonder who we will use 97 on.

Dunkley

Why would that do that when the were at an impass at the trade table?

Even if they (and us) have no intention in taking him in the PSD they should make them squirm a bit

None of this makes any sense.

Hahaha, so many auto correct errors on my phone then!

I just meant why would GC delist Martin now & let him walk for free to the blues after their negotiations fell over. At least if he goes into the PSD the Blues will squirm a bit and will likely overpay him in terms of salary.

Maybe we could recruit him early to teach Trac how to kick at goal.

might pick him up with Freos pick if they bomb out :D

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
