Thank God he is a gun footballer because he is a very poor and cringeworthy media performer.

AFL 360 should boot Lewis off and replace him with TMac.

I like Lewis on 360.

He has won four flags. TMac has time on his side, but there is a media career waiting for sure

It makes sense to me. Whilst I enjoy Jack Viney's leadership on the track, I think he is pretty average in front of a camera. And by pretty average I actually mean quite poor. With all due respect, he doesn't have the tools to be able to reflect on questions and answer them meaningfully without repeating the same old cliches like a broken record. Tmac on the other hand is extremely well spoken, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him follow the post-career media personality route as many before him in recent history.

Re: him not being leadership group, I think it would have come down to him or Nev. Both were excellent and deserving options.

As much as it is a contemporary footy cleché, you don't have to be in the official leadership group to be a leader and I think Mc Donald fits this.  Having such and mature level head to anchor our forward line up one end and likewise in Steve May, Nev and Hibbo up back is a great thing.

So out of a 360 team which includes Robbo, Gerard Wheatly and Jack Riewoldt - you think Lewis is cringeworthy and should be booted off?

No..

If you go back and read it properly you would know it was a quote in regards to Viney who i said was a cringeworthy media performer, but lucky that he is a bloody good footballer as he does his best work on field.

Lewis will be in and out of the side this year. Best to focus on that and give the opportunity to Tmac as a weekly panelist on 360.

Yeah, ok.  Understand.

Will be interesting to see if 360 do stick with Lewis or pass the baton elsewhere as you suggest.

Whilst I think there are other Melbourne guys like T Mac as you suggest and Max who would go quite well in this type of role, I think Lewis does it quite well and I'm happier for him to do it and let the others just focus on footy for now.

I actually also quite like Lewis on 360, he shoots pretty straight, says something when it's actually worth saying and doesn't come across like an attention seeker like Jack Riewoldt.

I agree as well that Lewis is good on 360. Just feel though that it would look awkward on him if he's a panelist whos playing VFL footy if he can't squeeze in at times.

Riewoldt is just an A grade genuine [censored].

Tommy Mac used to go out with a young woman who was a friend of a woman who used to work for me.

Six degrees of separation.

We are in good hands for leaders with the official Leadership Group plus Tom Mac Stephen May Jake Lever plus Hibbo Melkshake who all ooze knowledge and leadership and act as leaders also.

Happy for Lewy to grace AFL for this year even if he misses occasionally the AFL and to keep Slobbo in check!!

Yes TMac interviews wonderfully!

It’s been shown for years that players play worse after guesting on a tv show, therefor I prefer Lewis remain on AFL360 instead of one of our others.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
