Hutchins forward and Pedo down back? Is that because they are testing to see if they can bring Peds into the seniors as a defender maybe?

Hope not

Pedo playing back - but doesn’t seem to be having an impact. Solid though.

Really impressed with Bil and Weids. Just look so classy at this level. The 2 id be looking at for next week.

Spargo playing inside mid. Doing alright but not dominating.

JKH should have gone to Carlton. Would have played 13 games in the AFL next to Cripps.

Frost probably the best of the backs for the second key forward. More for his run rather than his lock down work.

Think he set up JKH's goal, so yep

Billy stretch looks a whole different player at vfl level. tough, good disposal and quick. in afl he is the opposite. I hope he can translate this soon

He is but I’d be interested what he’s doing as he doesn’t seem to be the deep option but he’s not around the ball like a high half forward. @Drunkn167 can you confirm? Thanks.

He just appeared with a good smoother.

Frost will always look okay at VFL level.

The bloke is not an AFL level defender and never will be which is clearly evidenced by Goody's refusal to name him as an emergency.

I don't care if he plays the greatest VFL game of his life, he is not AFL quality.

We've seen enough.

On current form he should be a certainty next week.

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
