Defending the new rules

Just watched the Collingwood game again and remembered that this season its illigal to put your hand on the opponants back in defence (everyone prob knew that already obviously). But this lead me to thinking if there are any players on our team who regually do this and will suffer from these rules (like White has from the reduced circle...thus having hess run up time and being of a lowish hight for a ruckman). Thoughts

One player who won't suffer is David Neitz who always fights hard for front position and is often pushed in the back with no reward from the umpires. I think the rule will result in higher scores overall because forwards will benefit from it.

I don't want to highjack this thread but I think Robbo would have kicked at least 5 goals in that game under the new rules. Clement had his hands in his back all day.

I can't really think of anyone in our backline that is prone to doing it regularly. Neitz is the only player whom I think it might effect in the forward half as he finds himself wrestling more than most.

This rule change is one of the things that I am looking forward to this season. I expect that players behind will have to try to hold their ground with their hips/backside or let their opponent come back and just go the 'good ol' punch'. It may be a bit hard to get used to at first, but it is to a degree rewarding the player in front like a lot of the rules in our great game. And that can't be a bad thing.

Yep Clement does that to all players tho. He pushes players in the back all the time and this will make him one of the worst defenders for this season in my belief. What about Holland and Rivers...these are the 2 players whom i think (im prob wrong) but tend to push players ion the back. Im wrong perhaps. Am I?
