HARD MAN COMING

This mature aged recruit from basketball has made a late start to the game but he plays strong and can get the footy out of the middle. He was exceptional in a losing team in the VFL semi final against Richmond and is definitely going places.

Liked his debut and thought he was unlucky to get dropped. Stiff competition for inside mids but competition is always good and seems like a competitive beast. Hope he gets a good run at it next year.

This is guy will be ready next year.Real competitor and lacks no fear.Another preseason and watch the improvement.

Our midfield depth is a real issue, so Maynard is sure to get chances if his Casey form is good enough.

At 26 I thought the 2 year contract extension was a little generous, but it does get him out of sequence with all the others whose contracts expire next year.

According to you we seem to have issues across every line

His last final for Casey was something else. If he can replicate that, he'll play senior footy next season. Tidy up his disposal and he could play plenty.

Can't believe he didn't get any votes in the Bluey for the 1 game he did play.

The last Casey game was awesome. Could be a real find.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
