Paul Roos' book

Anyone bought his book? I think I might buy it this weekend. Looks like it could be an interesting read with a fair bit of content about his time at the Dees.

Might also learn how to say a lot with not saying much.

Pfft.....

Is there anything he won't do Ā for money.

Pretty easy read.

Most interesting parts of the book are:

- Roos' 25 points that he wrote down when he retired as a player, in the event that he ever coached, he always wanted to remember from a player's perspective.

- Roos' powerpoint presentation to the Sydney board while Wallet was lurking.

- Drills that he brought back from the NBA and used extensively at Sydney primarily. Ā 2v1 attack; 4v4 Mids; 2v1 attack.

- Rationale for Jolly and pick 15 which was used on Lyn Dunn Dunn.

- Petracca might have ADD in the gym. Ā Issues over the journey with fooling around.

- Asked Watts if he wanted to be traded at the end of 2015 (forget if it is common-knowledge).

Still got those fancy private school fees to pay.

He was on 720 radioĀ here in Perf yesterday. Interview starts at 1hĀ 11m, finishes at 1h 25m of the program.

First time I have heard him talk about the circumstance at Fitzroy and how he drew onĀ that (parallel) to empathise with the Melbourne players when he first arrived.

Talks about his 25 points, their purpose in helping to remind him of what it was like to be a player during his time coaching.

Regurgitates a lot of his usual rhetoric.

Talks about communication as the key take out from his career. If you're gonna be a great leader you need to be open and communicate well (Neeld era fail obviously).

Worth a listen.
