My less obvious prediction for this week's match

Featured Replies

We've typically matched up well with Richmond but their skills are very, very good. They've had a fairly easy run but you can't discount them this year.

Tigers haven't been tested by a really strong opposition so far this year, they've beaten he pies, blues, pies and a very wasteful west coast (admittedly a good win)

i view us even with our injuries as the best opposition they've faced this year so it'll be a good test for both sides.

I picked Richmond to finish 6 or 7, and could not believe so many people talking them down. Their defence is still weak and a good forward line will destroy them. Their skills have been first class - a bit of a surprise really considering how bad they have been for the last few years.

I sense a VERY close game, with lots of pressure and therefore errors, with us outscoring them at the end.

I noticed last week was a big week for key forwards, with multiple bags kicked.

The way I see it, Jesse owes us at least 3 for each round he missed, plus the 'Rance is overrated' premium for this game, so should kick at least 10.

I also like the opening post's prediction of Kent to have a day out. He's been dangerous out there and one day soon it'll all come together at once and the rest of the football world will ask "Where did that come from?" and we will all get to sit back and be happy that we knew first.

Dees by 29 points. Let's give these pretenders a reality check.

Hogan to kick 5. Kent and Watts to kick 3. Oliver 30+ touches. Dusty to try and don't argue Petracca or Viney and wind up buried 6 feet under.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
