It’s Spargo’s 3rd game today. We’d be happy with four from him but he should be aiming at 8 goals ?.

Good luck with the multi, nice one. Is the Cats v Pies game at Geelong?

Indeed. I forgot the game was on today......still raining heavily here. Saw Darren Weir got the first at Morphetville for a lazy $5.00. When are they going to do a film about him~!

Yes the Cats are down at Cat Park, hence its pretty good thing on a wet day i would think.

James Joyce gets a winner, quinella and trifecta from his 4 picks in race 3. I liked Manuel too.

Opps, my mistake then. Sorry about that. Bet still stands tho.

Dan Zephyr into $12 fixed from $26 in the last 10 minutes. It wasn’t me.

A lot of money came for the horse but it weakened to finish well back.

I’ve noticed a lot of our Best Bets for a particular weekend pop us as winners in following starts. Osbourne Bulls a few minutes ago, Hear The Chant earlier today, French Emotion last week at very good odds mind you. Might have to do a scroll through all our picks so far to see how they back-up.

That might not be a bad idea. Like a Black Book of our bets. Where did Osborne run? Missed that.

Scone Wadda, paid around $2.20. Was in heavy traffic toward the back, found some gaps upon straightening and finished off with a brilliant burst nearer the rail.

Love it!!  The DL Black Book!

It a good horse with a great burst.

I have a severe case of PL right now, I hope you fellas mixed our trifecta selections around to get a collect at least. I’ll feel much better if you did?.

Box the 5 and you got it ... I did everything but.  Ugh!!

You got the winner and 2nd DZ ... the first 4 paid in excess of 2k with our selections (if boxed)

Ended up slightly in front for the day landing 2 doubles but it could have been a real bumper day - Demons winning easily was a good end to proceedings though.

The dividends in the Doomben 10000 were quite remarkable when factoring in the quality of horses that got into the finish.  All it needed was for the 2 favoured horses to finish out of the top 3.  But English,  Impending & Le Romain are all class gallopers.

@Wadda We Sing  @Dee Zephyr  @binman

Found 3 races this weekend that are likely candidates for our combined trifecta - amongst them the 'Roma Cup' from Ascot that has a quality field from the mostly local WA horses.

The G1 Goodwood has a field of 20 comprising a number of crack sprinters whilst the G1 Doomben Cup has some classy runners as well.

At this time of year I'll restrict my betting to these 3 races only but more so 2-5-5-5  First4's.  A small outlay to hopefully win big ?

Yep ... the Doomben Cup seems an easier proposition all things considered.

We're due for a change of order for the trifecta combo as well.

How does this look - we all rotate one spot and we go with the new order for 4 weeks (?)

  • W/2/3 - Dee Zephyr
  • W/2/3 - Wadda We Sing
  • W/2/3 - Macca
  • 2/3 - binman
  • 2/3 - binman

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.

  • CASEY: Northern Bullants

The Casey Demons travelled to a windy Cramer Street, Preston yesterday and blew the Northern Bullants off the ground for three quarters before shutting up shop in the final term, coasting to a much-needed 71-point victory after leading by almost 15 goals at one stage. It was a pleasing performance that revived the Demons’ prospects for the 2025 season but, at the same time, very little can be taken from the game because of the weak opposition. These days, the Bullants are little more than road kill. The once proud club, situated behind the Preston Market in a now culturally diverse area, is currently facing significant financial and on-field challenges, having failed to secure a win to date in 2025.

  • GAMEDAY: Sydney

It’s Game Day, and the Demons have a golden opportunity to build on last week’s stirring win by toppling Sydney at the MCG. A victory today would keep them firmly in the hunt for a finals spot and help them stay in touch with the pack chasing a place in the Top 8. Can the Dees make it two in a row and bring down the Swans?
