How does this look - we all rotate one spot and we go with the new order for 4 weeks (?)

Looks good Macca, I’m happy to go with that.

While I’m at it, here’s my Best Bet:

Flemington Race 6 No.1 Rich Charm. $3.00Tab

A return to winning ways last start after being far from disgraced earlier in the Autumn. Likes the track and distance , goes very well on the soft and even if it dries out, the horse has won half his starts on a good track.

Interestingly, Udyta Clarke resisted running in the G1 Goodwood this weekend and opted for Flemington. Clarke stated she didn’t want to draw barrier 1,2 or 3 down the straight but I’m willing to put my JJ hat on and back what I feel is a classy horse.

Here’s the latest on Rich Charm.

Happy with picking the place horse, particularly in a 200 metre race.  That distance sorts the wheat from the chaff a bit and unlike in 1600 metre races don't get those pesky 1400 metre horses that get a good run and snag a place.

Just had a quick look at the filed. Pretty strong.

Looks like the Doomben Cup it is then DZ ... and it's over to you to kick things off!

Good luck!

I might be playing it safe but Oregon’s Day is my selection. Untried at the 2000m but after watching her last start win it suggests the extra 200 shouldn’t be an issue. Terrific win pulling away impressively late.

Looking at all her form, the mare seems quite versatile in regards to settling positions and from barrier 2 J Byrne shouldn’t have an issue gaining a good position from the jump.

Great pick and a crowd favourite. Go Udyta.

btw theyve put the call out for extras in Michelle Paynes film......if you feel like starring..

Ok Doomben Cup im going to stick my neck out here, its a tough race with many winning chances. Im going for the Darren Weir horse, No10 Tradesman $14.00. Its had 3 runs in and won its last start, Its got 2 from 2 at the distance. Its as good a chance as any in this. Weir dont put em in just for the run.

Yes please Wadda, can you get me an audition? My towering height of 170cm should easily get me a gig as a jock.

Nice pick btw, good value.

Satono Rasen is my pick but not with any confidence ... this race has 'Box5' written all over it.  The good news is that it could well be a healthy dividend.

So it is back to you to finish things off BM ... good luck.

i dont have the guide in front of me but i think that was one of the Japanese horses from that name? If so good, glad we picked one of them.

Im also making my Best Bet for tomorrow Flemington Race 9 No 1 Iconoclasm $2.30. won very well here last start and doesnt look an overly strong race. A little on the shorter side but should get the biccies.

I could find quite a few that can get into the finish in the race but no standout winners ... but that's just me.  It is more like a Group 2 race in that sense.

The 3 we've nominated all have claims though Wadda.  The Goodwood race is all the more harder to figure out.  I'm not sold on Vega Magic yet it is JJ's best bet.

Are his bets up? Or was that on TV somewhere? Its drawn the carpark in a short race......it would want to get across pretty quick.

Watch out for VOODOO LAD. :)

It is a 400m - 500m straight dash from the barriers to the turn at Morphettville but even though Vega Magic is a fast starter it still may be caught wide with so many decent sprinters in the race.

The race is a bit of a lottery to be perfectly honest but Voodoo Lad has real claims.

Yes indeed.

A few of our Black Bookers going around at Morphettville tomorrow. Lite in my Viens, Tequila Time, Pleasuring, Land of Plenty, Creativity etc.

So do they win out of turn Wadda?  It seems that way sometimes.

I reckon a lot of my best bets have won their next races rather than the one I nominated them for ?

Yes as soon as i posted, he kicked one and the Swans got up in the end. Lets hope Charlie Spargo has a day out soon. He looks to have a few party tricks up his sleeve.

Which brings me to this weeks multi.

Morphetville Race 4 Tequila Time Plc  $1.55 (must run a place)

Melbourne 1-39 pts $2.12    (because we never thrash teams) (yet)!

Melbourne Storm +13 pts $1.57 (will smash them at home)

Port Adelaibe/ Adelaide Crows Either side by less than 15.5 pts. $2.60 (SA Darby nearly always goes down to the wire)

Fremantle H2H $1.48 (will smash the Saints over there after we demoralized them last week)

St George Illawarra $1.60 (Side going very strong atm)

Geelong Cats 1-39 $2.24 (close one but Cats to get up over the pies at Cat park) (only Sydney and Melbourne can beat them down there)

$71.15 for your $1.00 outlay.

Ok so last weeks Super Multi was close but no cigar and guitar. 2 legs wrong.

Melbourne proved me wrong and thrashed Gold Toast and St George had an upset loss to the Rabbitohs. But the Darby was 5pts in the end and the Storm got up by 14pts as well.

So onto this weeks:

Melbourne 40+  $2.02

North Melbourne 1-39  $2.15

Geelong Cats @ line -30.5  $1.92

Melbourne Storm H2H  $1.50

Cronulla Sharks H2H  $1.50

Flemington R 6 No 1 Rich Charm plc  $1.45

Morphettville R 2 No1 Tequila Time W  $2.60

Thats $70.31 for your $1.00.

Nice going there Wadda ... hope you get it.

Waiting on the others with their sporting best bets but I'm giving the Waratahs another chance at home against strong opposition.

Tahs (1-12) over the Highlanders $3.75

And my best bet is ...

Rosehill Race 9 No.2  Noire  $3.30

Trained by Waller and also, the Sky Thoroughbred crew like its chances as well.

The 3 adds up to about 22-1 combined in a multi.

Nice work lads. All later races so no need for me to do the Zephyr Dash to the TAB early. Weekend off and looking forward to some good racing.

Took the Crows at the line tonight which was 22.5pts. Having trouble actually believing the Bulldogs score atm.

Ok. I'll take Coming Though for place. The type of horse i really like. Gives you a good sight very time and rarely runs a bad race. Started fav last start and never really got out but was only 2.5 lengths behind the very impressive winner Oregon Day (who i tipped).

Is 12 4-2-1 in the good ground. Comes in ok at the weights carrying 59 as a 108 rater, though not nearly as well as Oregon Day who is carrying 2kgs less and is only 3 rating point behind at 106

G’day binman, just realised we need one more selection from you for the placings when you get some time please. Cheers.

Im getting a bit confused with the trifecta. Are we leaving out Vega Magic? Might not win, but its gonna be up there you would think? Just sayin....

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
