The worst movie I have ever seen (and didn't finish) was Hudson Hawk.  It starred, and I use the term loosely, Bruce Willis and Andie MacDowell.

Truly horrible.

i'd have thought you would have gone for 'an inconvenient truth', pd :P

I don’t think anything will ever beat ‘Shakespeare In Love’ in that category’

Each to their own, I suppose - Shakespeare in Love and The Artist are two of my favourite films (my kids say I need to see more films)

Sorry it was awful. Can’t believe it beat Saving Private Ryan. Biggest robbery in Oscar history. Paltrow can’t do an English accent to save herself

You're probably right - each to his own, I suppose, and I didn't like the guy who played Will (Joseph Fiennes, wasn't it?) but I thought Gwyneth was a bit of a sweetie. What I liked about it (and the reason I suggested my kids see it when they were doing Shakespeare at  school) was its depiction of Elizabethan theatre and its place in society.

I thought Saving Private Ryan was also a brilliant film, if a little Yankee-gung-ho, but I had to shut my eyes for the opening scenes.

It’s not a terrible movie, but it’s not Oscar caliber

Worst film I've seen in recent times is "A Ghost Story". A love it or hate it movie thats for sure.

I watched The Shape of Water on my flight to Taipei on Tuesday... I thought it was brilliant.

Yep, great movie. I wanted Three Billboards to win, but Shape of Water deserved it.

Late to this topic, but I assess my "worst movies" in a slightly different way. Generally, it's how I feel about a movie compared with expectations based on community views. In other words, when I think a film is a stinker when others seem to think it's great. And under that classification it's no contest: Titanic. Awful dialogue, awful acting and awfully long.

Avengers Infinity Wars anyone?
